Abstract: A perforating apparatus incorporating a selective self-sealing material is disclosed for sealing exit holes in a wall of the apparatus resulting from perforation operations. The perforating apparatus traps debris produced during downhole perforation operations and prevents the debris from entering the wellbore which avoids the need for remedial operations to remove debris from the wellbore. The self-sealing material may be disposed within the perforating apparatus adjacent to an interior surface of the wall or the self-sealing material may be disposed outside the perforating apparatus adjacent to an exterior surface of the wall. The self-sealing material may include an expandable polymer material, a swelling elastomer, a rubber and combinations thereof.

Abstract: A system for apportioning reductant dosing amounts in multi-doser architectures includes an engine, an aftertreatment system in fluid communication with the engine, and a controller. The aftertreatment system includes a first doser configured to dose reductant into a first decomposition reaction member and a second doser configured to dose reductant into a second decomposition reaction member. The controller receives engine operating conditions and determines a total reductant amount based on the engine operating conditions. The controller also apportions the total reductant amount into a first apportioned reductant amount based on a first maximum reductant dosing amount for the first doser and a second apportioned reductant amount based on a second maximum reductant dosing amount for the second doser. The controller outputs a first apportioned reductant dosing command to the first doser and a second apportioned reductant dosing command to the second doser.

Abstract: A vehicle exhaust system includes an exhaust component defining an engine exhaust gas passageway and which includes an opening. A doser defines a doser axis and extends to a doser tip that is configured to spray a reducing agent into the engine exhaust gas passageway through the opening. A cone has a base end positioned adjacent the opening such that an annular gap is formed within the exhaust component around the doser tip. Exhaust gas is directed into the base end of the cone through the annular gap in a direction transverse to the doser axis. This configuration reduces deposit formation while still allowing the reducing agent to be thoroughly mixed with engine exhaust gases prior to introduction of the mixture into a downstream exhaust component.
