  • Patent number: 9719280
Abstract: A multi-pin hinge includes a first mounting pin, a second mounting pin, a linkage pin assembly, a first single-pin gear, a second single-pin gear and a double-pin gear assembly. The first single-pin gear is sleeved on the first mounting pin, the second single-pin gear is sleeved on the second mounting pin, and the linkage pin assembly is movably connected between the first mounting pin and the second mounting pin by the double-pin gear assembly. The multi-pin hinge connect two bodies of an electronic device to two mounting pins, thus a first body is rotatable around a second body without directly contacting the second body, thereby avoiding providing a gap or a protruding block on the two bodies. An electronic device using the multi-pin hinge can avoid providing a protruding block and/or a groove, thus the electronic device has a regular appearance and structure.

  • Patent number: 9719316
Abstract: A slip assembly is in two pieces that move relatively to each other to facilitate release. The wicker portion is dovetailed to the base near a center underside location and at the edges. A positive travel stop converts the initial relative movement into tandem movement of the base and the wicker segment after a predetermined relative movement that has resulted in release. Adjacent components prevent relative movement during the radially outward movement for setting the assembly during which there is tandem movement of the base portion and the wicker portion. The two portions can be initially attached with a breakable member that fails during the release movement.

Abstract: A fishing tool is provided to enable retrieval of a fish from a mineral extraction system. The downhole fishing tool includes a frustoconical member for guiding broken fish such as a broken pipe into a channel created by a sliding car and an edge of a body of the downhole fishing tool. The channel enlarges by sliding the sliding car along the body of the downhole fishing tool. The downhole fishing tool body and sliding car are aligned such that the sliding car slides diagonally across the body of the downhole fishing tool thus creating a larger channel at a first point along the diagonal than at a second point along the diagonal.

  • Patent number: 9719318
Abstract: The invention is directed to a novel and useful fluid-tight, metal-to-metal, annular seal which can be repeatedly cycled in a high temperature, high pressure environment. More specifically, the invention provides a metal-to-metal, annular, seal on a radially expandable sliding sleeve which moves longitudinally from a reduced ID section of a bore to an enlarged section of the bore. The seal is disengaged at the enlarged bore section resulting in rapid fluid flow and pressure equalization which would destroy many traditional elastomer seals.

  • Patent number: 9719319
Abstract: An annularly shaped structure serves as a support and seal when pushed out on a ramp. A continuous seal in a groove is used on one or two sides to enhance sealing. A separate annular structure for sealing can be disposed adjacent to the shape having alternating longitudinal slots so that each structure is targeted to a different purpose. The structures disintegrate when made of a disintegrating material such as for example a controlled electrolytic material (CEM) so that removal of the barrier can occur after a treating operation such as fracturing where many such barriers are deployed. The slots have enlarged holes at their ends to reduce stress concentration that can lead to cracking.

  • Patent number: 9719321
Abstract: A subterranean tool can drop multiple objects to landing locations in a tubular string. The tool can keep at least one ball out of the fluid stream until ready for release. A dart or wiper plug can be kept in the fluid stream with an open bypass until axial mandrel movement allows release of the plug or dart. The tool is rotationally locked at a lower location for run in and then can rotationally lock at an upper location upon release of the dart or ball shifting relative rotation capabilities to different members. Axial movement that releases the dart also aligns a ball with a decreasing depth groove so that relative part rotation can cam the ball against a leaf spring detent and into the mandrel flow path.

  • Patent number: 9719326
Abstract: Two control systems are provided to run in parallel between a surface location and the final controlled element, in this case a subsurface safety valve. The primary control circuit is controlling until a predetermined signal is given to the secondary control line which has the effect of actuating the valve a single time against the force of a bias or a shear pin that breaks. The movement of a shuttle in the housing due to the predetermined signal being provided in the secondary line puts the secondary control system in the position of running the tool. The primary system is valved off and cannot return into service. There are just two lines into and out of the housing to make the valve operate at the desired location. A test port is provided for surface testing.
