Abstract: The primary purpose of this device is to reduce the fuel consumption of heavy trucks by improving airflow along the underside of a trailer, by way of a fairing mounted forward of the axles. This fairing is a teardrop shaped wedge with a flat bottom surface, which directs air towards the sides of the vehicle, while allowing a smaller volume to flow beneath the fairing such that it will clear the axles. Each axle is also covered by a flat panel, such that air will continue to travel smoothly beneath them. Attached to each panel is a brake cooling system, which consists of a pair of panels protruding downward, with their surfaces parallel to the direction of airflow. When the brakes are engaged, these panels rotate towards the center in an angled configuration, which redirects air towards the drums during and after braking, cooling them quickly and efficiently.

Therefore, it is convenient to repair and assemble. The valve port and the oil-block plate are arranged up and down so that they may touch each other closely in surfaces engaging. The chain guide is configured to guide a chain. The link mechanism movably couples the chain guide to the base member between a retracted position and an extended position in response to movement of an operation cable. The cable guiding structure has one of bore, recess and groove formed on the link mechanism to guide the operation cable. The operation cable exits forwardly from the cable guiding structure within a sector having an angle of 150 degrees around the crank axis from an upper radius lying in a first plane that is perpendicular to a second plane containing a crank axis and a rear wheel axis.

Abstract: A swivel (100) for a mooring line comprises a first element (110) with a first line coupler (111) and a second element (112) with a second line coupler (113). The first element (110) and the second element (112) are rotatable relative to each other. An electric power generator (120) converts a relative rotation between the first element (110) and the second element (112) into electric power. In use, the line couplers (111, 113) are attached to separate segments of the mooring line. A pull F applied to or relieved from the mooring line causes the relative rotation. The swivel preferably contains a battery and a control unit, and may supply power to one or mode sensors, transmitters and/or transducers (130) built into or external to the swivel (100). A system for monitoring a mooring arrangement is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system used in the offshore renewables or oil and gas industries for providing articulation at the end of a mooring line or a riser. The design uses a nested rubber segment (14) and orthogonal cylindrical bearings (12) to provide articulation with low resistance at both small and large oscillation angles. A relative rotational force applied between the axially loaded member (1) and the anchor assembly (4) causes the angle of the axially loaded member (1) to change to reduce such forces. The securement assembly comprises a bearing assembly (10) arranged to provide rotation about a pin (11). The bearing assembly (10) is arranged to provide two distinct stages for relative rotation. In the first stage, small relative rotations are accommodated by the flexion or deformation in the rubber layer (14). This deformation of the rubber layer (14) enables the axially loaded member (1) to rotate around the pin (11) and move relative to the anchor assembly (4).

Abstract: A mooring assembly for a vessel comprises a moonpool having a casing, a turret mounted in a moonpole for a rotation by upper and lower bearing assemblies. The lower bearing assembly comprises a stiff inner bearing ring attached to a lower part of the turret, an outer bearing ring attached to a casing of the moonpool and a number of circumferentially spaced bearing blocks positioned between the inner and outer bearing rings. A mounting assembly maintains a substantially fixed position of the bearing blocks relative to the outer bearing ring but allows the bearing blocks to assume a position where the load transfer between the bearing blocks and outer bearing ring occurs with a minimum of stress concentrations within the outer bearing ring and wherein the larger part of the load transfer occurs directly between the bearing blocks and outer bearing ring without being directed through the mounting assembly.
