Abstract: Nonslip shower footwear for preventing slippage in showers includes a first shoe that comprises a sole. The sole has a top layer and a bottom layer, which are mutually coupled along their respective perimeters to define an interior space that comprises a gel. A plurality of grips is coupled to and extends from the bottom layer. The grips are tackified to prevent slippage. A shell is coupled to the perimeter of the top layer. The shell and the sole define an internal space that is complimentary to the foot of the user. An entry is positioned in the shell proximate to a first end of the sole for insertion of the user's foot. A plurality of openings is positioned in the shell for water to flow into and drain from the internal space. The footwear includes a second shoe that is a mirror image of the first shoe.

Each zone may differ from the other zones of the upper by the number, shape, size, layout, and material of each compressible segment in that zone. The number, shape, size, layout, and material of the compressible segments in each zone gives each zone a specific degree of flexibility, support, and comfort.

Abstract: A method is provided for making footwear utilizing a spray-on material. The method can include spraying a spray-on fabric onto surfaces of a three dimensional last. The last can be produced using additive manufacturing techniques, such as 3D printing, based on data corresponding to dimensions and contours of a consumer's foot, and/or preselected aesthetic footwear designs. The spray-on fabric is sprayed onto the surfaces of the last and allowed to cure to form a flexible, non-woven fabric upper. The upper can be removed from the last and turned inside out. With the upper turned inside out, a sole can be joined to the fabric upper to form the footwear.
