  • Patent number: 9796451
Abstract: A boat comprising a wake shaping system comprising starboard and port wake shaping devices located aft of the transom. Each wake shaping device is operable to move between a first, non-deployed position behind the transom and a second, deployed position extending outside the side of the hull or below the transom. When the starboard wake shaping device is in the deployed position, a port wakesurf wake is created. When the port of the wake shaping device is in the deployed position, a starboard wakesurf wake is created. When neither wake shaping device is deployed, a symmetrical wakeboard wake is created.

  • Patent number: 9796453
Abstract: A method and structure for mooring seaworthy craft against boat landings is disclosed. The structure comprises a fender (4) with a layer of compressible material having an exposed surface, mounted on the craft. Anchor points (12) are secured at laterally spaced locations on the craft, as are two draw mechanisms (14), one associated with each anchor point (12). A tie (10) is provided for extending from each anchor point (12) to its associated draw mechanism (14), and each mechanism is operable to draw its respective tie from an anchor point around a pylon thereby urging the fender (4) against both pylons. In the mooring process, the craft is first steered to the boat landing to engage the fender (4) against the pylons (6), and the ties (10) are withdrawn from each draw mechanism (14) and taken around one of the pylons. Each tie is then attached to an anchor point (12) on the craft, and the mechanisms (14) are activated to draw the ties (10) around the pylons to urge the fender (4) against them.

  • Patent number: 9796468
Abstract: An aircraft landing gear including: a sprung arm mounted to a main pivot and carrying one or more wheels; leaf springs; a transfer arm attached to each of the leaf springs; and a swinging link with a first end which is pivotally coupled to the sprung arm via a first swinging link pivot and a second end which is pivotally coupled to the transfer arm via a second swinging link pivot. The leaf springs are arranged to provide a resilient biasing force via the transfer arm and the swinging link which opposes rotation of the sprung arm about the main pivot. Each leaf spring only absorbs a portion of the landing loads, so load and stress levels in each individual spring are lower. The swinging link enables the leaf springs to be positioned remotely from the sprung arm, in a suitable position to optimize the use of space and distribute loads efficiently into the airframe.

  • Patent number: 9796490
Abstract: Aqueous compositions contain hydrochloric acid at a concentration between 8 wt % and 28 wt % inclusive. The amino acid; hydrochloric acid mole ratio may be between 0.2 and 1.5. Sufficient water is present to dissolve the hydrochloric acid and the amino acid. Such compositions have utility as retarders for acid compositions employed in the stimulation of subterranean formations. Slowing the reaction between the acid and formation helps maximize formation permeability and productivity.

  • Patent number: 9796492
Abstract: A manual check valve for use when priming a fluid supply for a spray gun includes an orifice that opens from the fluid supply into a storage chamber, the storage chamber captures any fluid that is expelled from the fluid supply during priming, and the storage chamber is sealed with a closure. Sealing the storage chamber traps any expelled fluid in the storage chamber and prevents any of the expelled fluid from leaking onto another surface, which keeps the priming operation clean.

  • Patent number: 9796495
Abstract: A robotic material handling apparatus comprises a packing head using vacuum to lift bottles, and a robot arm including two four-bar linkages. The four-bar linkages include a tubular structural member forming a rigid link with an internal passageway extending along the robot arm. A vacuum source is connected by hoses to the internal passageways and to the packing head as a way in integrating the vacuum lines into the robot arm. The packing head has bottle-lifting stations using vacuum to lift bottles, each including a seal shaped to sealingly engage a shoulder on the bottle. A vacuum source is connected to the seal for suctionally gripping the bottle using the shoulder to lift the bottle, regardless of whether a bottle cap is present or is missing.

  • Patent number: 9796496
Abstract: An apparatus for packaging dosed quantities of solid drug portions includes multiple storage containers and dosing elements for storing and dispensing first dosed quantities of drug portions, multiple moving collecting containers for collecting and outputting drug portions to a packaging station, and fall tubes for guiding the drug portions dispensed by the dosing elements to the collecting containers. An ancillary dosing station has multiple buffer receptacles for storing and delivering second dosed quantities of drug portions to the collecting containers. A conveyor moves the collecting containers between multiple locations along a predetermined path. A controller controls closure members of the buffer receptacles depending on the positions of the moving collecting containers so that drug portions temporarily held in the buffer receptacles are output to selected collecting containers.

  • Patent number: 9796497
Abstract: A stretched and foamed plastic formed body forming, in at least a portion thereof, a foamed region which incorporates foamed cells therein, wherein the foamed cells have a flat shape with a maximum thickness of not more than 30 ?m and an average aspect ratio of not less than 4 as viewed in cross section of the formed body perpendicular to a direction in which the formed body is stretched to a maximum degree, and a non-foamed plastic skin layer having no foamed cell distributed therein is formed on the outer surface of the foamed region. The formed body is, further, blended with a non-lustrous pigment as the coloring agent, which is different from a lustrous pigment such as flaky pigment, and exhibits a metal color over the foamed region thereof. The foamed formed body exhibiting a metal color and, specifically, a gold color or a silver color is thus provided without using any expensive lustrous pigment such as metal powder pigment or flaky pigment.
