Abstract: A pet toy includes a ring shaped peripheral body and an interior dispenser. An interior curved engaging surface of the peripheral body engages an exterior spherical surface of the dispenser. A curvature of the interior engaging surface allows the dispenser to continuously roll or rotate, yet maintain engagement with the peripheral body when the peripheral body is displaced by contact. The dispenser is hollow thereby defining a chamber to receive treats. One or more dispensing openings are provided on the dispenser to selectively dispense treats. The openings can be sized to selectively dispense treats of various sizes and shapes. The invention further includes a method of dispensing treats from a pet toy and a combination comprising the pet toy and selected treats loaded within the chamber.

Abstract: A treat dispensing device has a body and a hollow interior. A plurality of dispensing openings function to dispense treats. A non-adjustable opening is formed on an exterior surface of the body. A sleeve is slideably engaged within a part of the hollow interior of the body. At least one adjustable opening is formed on the sleeve. A user selectively places the pet toy in a first position to cover the adjustable opening with a portion of the body and a second position to expose the adjustable opening. The sleeve may include two sections in which an adjustable opening is formed on each section. A third position of the pet toy is defined by placement of the body relative to the sleeve so an adjustable opening is exposed on each sleeve section. An incremental position is defined by placement of the body relative to the sleeve so at least one adjustable opening is partially or fully exposed. A method includes placement of the device in a selected position to dispense treats at a selected rate for selected treats.

Abstract: A flexible abrasion resistant omnidirectionally reflective retractable pet leash has an omnidirectionally reflective pet leash housed within a retractable housing device. The omnidirectionally reflective pet leash reflects an incoming light beam back in the same direction as it was emanated. The reflected light beam provides accurate illumination of the pet leash and the location of the pet during dusk or nighttime hours. This retractable pet leash is created by surrounding a central braided rope of nylon or polyethylene fibers with a cylindrically braided reflective sleeve. The braided reflective sleeve is composed of braided narrow width reflective strips each comprising a plurality of reflective threads worked together to form a weave. Due to the braided weave of the reflective threads and the arrangement of the microscopic reflectors light incident thereon from virtually any angle is reflected back to its source.

Abstract: A simple triggering tip-up device, for use with a conventional ice fishing rod and reel, includes a base, a rod holder, an indicator flag, and a trigger mechanism. The base provides a stable platform for the rod holder and indicator flag to be removably attached to one end and a U-shaped trigger mechanism is rotatably mounted at the other end. The trigger mechanism has a long leg on one end and a short leg on the opposite end. The long leg secures a fishing line being fed from a reel with an open bail while the short leg holds the indicator flag in the “set” position. The action of a fish pulling the line raises the legs of the trigger mechanism causing stored energy from the flag shaft to be released resulting in the release of both the indicator flag and the fishing line. Although the present invention primarily relates to ice fishing it would not be unreasonable to apply this invention to open water fishing.

Abstract: A funneling apparatus is provided that can be used in filling a food item, such as a taco shell. The funneling apparatus includes two opposing elongated walls connected on their ends by two opposing end walls. An opening is formed inside the funneling apparatus between the elongated walls and the end walls, which includes a top portion configured to receive contents and a bottom portion configured to dispense the contents. A concave section is provided along the base of each of the first elongated wall the second elongated wall. During use of the funneling apparatus with an item such as a taco shell, the concave section exposes the interior of the side walls formed by the taco shell. The end walls of the funneling apparatus prevent the contents inserted into the opening from spilling out of the taco shell.

Abstract: Moulding device for moulding three-dimensional food products from a mass of foodstuff which can be transferred by pumping, for example a meat mass of minced meat. The device comprises a moulding drum having a peripheral surface containing multiple series of cavities extending in the peripheral direction. The device comprises a mass feed device which is arranged in a filling position with respect to the peripheral surface of the moulding drum. The peripheral surface is embodied as a profiled peripheral surface having a shaping profile. Multiple shoe segments are provided which are arranged next to one another and which have a profiled inner side with a profile which is in meshing engagement with the shaping profile. The shoe segments have freedom of movement with respect to one another, at least in the direction of the rotation axis, in order to each remain individually aligned with respect to the profile of the section with which the inner side of the shoe segment is in meshing engagement.

Abstract: Edible seeds are sanitized with a composition comprising water, a biocidal agent and a solvent. The composition is applied to the seeds and the seeds are later dried without first rinsing the seeds. The application rate may be 15% by weight of the seeds or less. The solvent may be a water-miscible alcohol such as ethanol or propylene glycol. When sanitizing mucilaginous seeds, the composition comprises one or more alcohols in an amount effective to inhibit the release of mucilage. The composition is initially applied as a mist to mucilaginous seeds. The biocidal agent may be an oxidizer such as peracetic acid. A treatment system includes an atomizing sprayer and a dryer, for example a fixed bed forced-air dryer.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a plant protein product with colouring ingredients and to a production method. In the method, a protein formula is provided which comprises plant proteins from oil seeds or from legumes and oil seeds, and secondary plant compounds from the oil seeds. In this method, the secondary plant compounds from the oil seeds contain polyphenols which alter their colour on oxidation. The polyphenols fraction selected for the protein formula. is between 10 ppm and 0.2%. The protein formula is then extruded at a temperature of more than 100° C. in the presence of atmospheric oxygen. The addition of proteins and of the aforesaid secondary plant compounds from the oil seeds allows different hues to be established in the vegetable extrudate that lend the impression of meat in any of a variety of prepared forms, without any need to add further colorants to the extrudate.
