Abstract: The present invention refers to nutritional composition comprising sn-1(3) monoacylglycerols for use in the treatment or prevention of maldigestion and/or malabsorption in an infant or young child. It also refers to a nutritional composition comprising sn-1(3) monoacylglycerols for use to increase lipid (e.g. fatty acids) absorption/delivery and/or to increase the energy or the mineral bioavailability in an infant or young child. The infant or young child may have a gut immaturity and/or a reduced enteral feeding tolerance. They may also be pretermand/or low birth weight.

Abstract: An Avocado De-seeder and De-skinner and Method is disclosed. The cutting, deseeding and pulping sequences is conducted by three separate stations along a conveyor system. At a first station, the incoming avocados (including the seeds) are cut into two halves. At a second station, the seed-halves are plucked cleanly from the avocado half without damaging the pulp. At a third station, the skin is removed cleanly from the pulp and discarded. In order to insure that the skin is easily removed and that the pulp is left undamaged, the skin side of the (seeded) avocado halves is heated enough to release the skin, but not so much as to damage the pulp. This heating step is conducted as the de-seeded avocado halves are being conveyed from the de-seeder to the de-skinner.

Therein the step of applying adhesive to the wrapper comprises applying adhesive over a width of the wrapper and in a central portion of the wrapper.

Abstract: The apparatus for shaping substantially flat continuous material comprises a shaping device (500) for gathering substantially flat continuous material transverse to a longitudinal direction of the continuous material to form a gathered continuous material. The apparatus further comprises a cooling device (75) for cooling the gathered continuous material. The shaping device and the cooling device are combined such as to immediately cool the gathered continuous material.

Abstract: An ice cube for use in a water pipe with an ice catch may present a plurality of bores formed within the bulk of the ice cube. These bores will then allow smoke from a smokable substance to pass through the bulk of the ice cube and enhance the cooling effect of the ice cube on the smoke. The bores may be interconnected by one or more tranches at a bottom surface of the ice cube such that fluid communication is maintained between the bores, in the event the bottom of the ice cube is partially impinged upon by another ice cube or other obstruction. A mold for making such a cube may be accomplished by having a plurality of rods extend from a bottom of the mold and providing appropriate ridges to form the trenches.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, systems and methods for altering the draw of a cigar are provided. The systems may include an elongate shaft with a working portion at the distal end. The working portion may have any of number of blades, corners, recesses, grooves, textures, and sharp points, among others. The methods may include assessing the draw of a cigar, inserting the working portion into the cigar, using the working portion to catch, cut, and pull and then remove tobacco from within the cigar, testing the draw of the cigar, and repeating the above steps until the draw is ideal.

The apparel item has at least a first segment with multiple knit courses, and a second segment having the same number of multiple knit courses as the first segment. The apparel item has an aperture separating the first segment and the second segment, where the aperture is occupied by a single strand of yarn extending from the first segment to the second segment. The first and second segments are formed by changing the circular knitting direction from one course to the next course in a reciprocating fashion, until the last course is formed, wherein the single strand of yarn moves from the last course in the current segment to the first course in a next, adjacent segment.

The reinforcement plates help support a wearer's chest in each one of the cups. Each of the reinforcement plates include fingers extending from an outside of a respective bra cup toward a center of the respective bra cup. The fingers include a first finger extending under the area of the respective cup.

Abstract: Disclosed are garments with selective wire management systems, as well as ports for adapting garments without selective wire management systems. Garments for wire management may include one or more ports which define an aperture through which headphone wire is passed. The ports provide both support to the headphone wire as well as to the garment, thereby preventing tearing of the garment more than is necessary to accommodate the wire. Further, ports may be selectively placed on a garment, as desired, to provide optimal entrance and exit placement of headphone wire. In addition to the ports, a channel may connect the ports, thereby selectively routing the wire along the garment.

Abstract: Pompoms are removably attachable to the cuff portions of a long sleeve garment. The pompoms can be easily removed from the sleeves to allow the pompoms to be worn on the user's wrists independently of the garment. The pompoms are attached to the sleeves with use of cooperating releasable fasteners such as, but not limited to, hook and loop fasteners, hook and eye fasteners, snaps, or rows of loops and buttons encircling the wrist portion of the sleeve. A band on the pompoms has an arrangement of releasable fasteners to allow the pompoms to be adjustably secured around the user's wrists when separated from the garment sleeves. Examples of materials used for the pompoms include string, synthetic raffia, ribbons, fringe, yarn, plastic streamers, paper strips or feathers.

Abstract: This invention provides for an improved lineman trouser comprising: an upper segment extending down from a waist to about 6 inches above a knee; a middle section attached to the upper segment and extending down to a bottom segment of the trouser; a gusseted crotch, wherein the upper segment constructed with only one vertical seam at a front side of the trouser above the gusseted crotch to the waist, the middle section constructed with only one vertical seam on each outside leg of the trouser, the middle section joined to the upper segment with the gusseted crotch without a central seam so that there is no central seam between the trouser's seat and the front side of the trouser.

Abstract: A wet sportswear takeoff helping device for the upper sportswear that is worn extremely tight to the wearer's skin; where the takeoff helping device includes one or more guides for guiding the corresponding drawstrings and a handgrip used for activation. The guides are made on the back part of the upper sportswear, each guide begins close to the hemline and propagates to the upper part of the sportswear in a continuous way, or having one or more interruptions formed along the guide. Pulling of the handgrip by the wearer's hand causes lifting of the sportswear's hemline towards the wearer's neck to facilitate removal. The invention is applicable to an ordinary T-shirt takeoff device for helping elderly or disabled people to take off the upper garment.

Abstract: A weather-resistant facial protection mask to be worn by a user in extreme outdoor environments is disclosed. The mask includes a facial covering constructed of a waterproof breathable fabric configured to prevent the passage of water while allowing water vapor to pass through. The mask also includes a port extending completely through the facial covering and positioned to align with the user's mouth. A screen mesh is attached to the facial covering and extends over the port, the screen mesh is non-absorbent. The mask also includes a head securing portion attached to the facial covering, the head securing portion constructed from a second material different from the first material of the facial covering, the second material is more stretchable than the first material.

Abstract: Provided among other things is a method of forming a composite glove with a grip texture, comprising: (a) providing a coagulant-coated support layer that is a fabric layer or a polymeric layer; (b) dip applying to the support layer a foamed polymer dispersion comprising about 0.5% to about 2.0% by weight hygroscopic agent; (c) allowing a portion of the applied foamed polymer dispersion to coagulate based the coagulant diffusing from the support layer to form a partially coagulated foam layer; (d) washing the partially coagulated foam layer to remove uncoagulated polymer to form a coagulated foam layer; and (e) vulcanizing the coagulated foam layer to form a vulcanized open foam layer laminated to the support.

Abstract: The present invention is a flexible head protector device made of cushioned materials that will singularly reflect the immediate impact of the head with other objects. The device is durable and provides a snug fit allowing it to be worn under items such as motorcycle, hockey or football helmets. At its core the fitted head protect is made of a fitted mesh type of material, able to stretch around a person's head and maintain itself via a rubbery band around the outer edge of the product which allows for a one-size-fits-all. This is to be layered with groups of a type of rubbery pads of roughly one inch diameter positioned on the top, rear, and sides of the head.

The bill and the nape-covering portion are positioned opposite to each other about a rim of the dome. The first fan assembly and the second fan assembly each include a motorized fan and a cover housing, wherein the motorized fan is mounted within the cover housing. The first fan assembly cools the face of the user and is integrated into the bill. The second fan assembly cools the neck of the user and is integrated into the nape-covering portion. The rechargeable battery supplies electricity to the first fan assembly and the second fan assembly. Additionally, the rechargeable battery is mounted onto the dome.

The body portion may include a second monofilament zone including at a plurality of second monofilament areas forming at least part of the interior surface. The multifilament courses may define a shape of the first monofilament areas and a shape of the second monofilament areas.

Abstract: A lighted footwear device for use with existing footwear is disclosed herein comprising: a toe section, a heel section, a pair of adjustable strap members, and a plurality of light members. The plurality of light members are each attached to an outer surfaces of one of the toe section and the heel section. Each of the plurality of light members includes a pressure switch adapted to light up the light member when pressure is applied thereto and turn off when the light member is relieved of the pressure, such that when a person wearing the footwear walks or runs upon a surface respective lights will emit light when stepped upon. The lighted footwear device is adapted to be releasably attached to outer surfaces of respective toe and heel sections of the footwear.

Abstract: Sandals with biomechanical foot support, robust usability and cost-effectiveness are disclosed. The footwear may comprise a biomechanical sole and a Y-shaped rubber strap anchored to the sole. The sole has a top surface including a raised contour on the medial side of the sandal, and a low profile heel cup. The raised contour on the medial side and the heel cup match the natural anatomic shape of the foot, and thus provides a biomechanical foot support. The bottom surface of the sole may be a roughed surface to provide necessary traction and friction when a wearer/user walks. The bottom surface further comprises a plurality of grooves to allow water to be expelled and increase traction.

Abstract: The waterproof/breathable moisture transfer liner for a running and hiking shoe includes an inner liner selected from technically advanced fabrics which are carefully selected. A series of layers are provided outside the inner liner including foam material layers, breathable membranes, a supportive mesh or a moldable foam, and an outer shell fabric. The applicability of the liner to alpine, snowboard boots, cross country, hiking boots, protective gear and helmets, along with appropriate variations for each application.

Hard insert elements 5 are provided for inserting into vertical cavities 2 in the midsole 3. By varying the hardnesses of different inserts 5 in different vertical cavities, a precisely-tunable pronation control effect on the wearer's gait can be effected. First-order, second-order and third-order pronation control effects are described.

Abstract: A shoe system including a shoe upper with a bottom side having an aperture extending to a cavity. The shoe system also includes a selectively removable outsole which includes a bottom for contacting the ground, and a top for engaging with the bottom of the shoe upper. The top side of the outsole further includes a projection which is sized and shaped to extend through the aperture and into the cavity when the outsole is in a first orientation, which is misaligned with respect to the shoe upper. The projection is also sized and shaped to fit within the cavity but no longer back through the aperture when the outsole is in a second orientation, which is aligned with respect to the shoe upper. In the second orientation, the projection within said cavity prevents disengagement of the outsole from the shoe upper.

Abstract: Designs and compositions of insoles for footwear are described herein. The insoles may be customized for a given foot. In some examples, the insole (100) includes a base comprising a variable thickness component (205), a directional stiffness component, a stability component, and a reinforcement component. The base may be a single composition that is manufactured using additive manufacturing techniques.

Abstract: A tensioning system for use with an article of footwear includes a pulley assembly. The pulley assembly may include a first disc and a second disc connected by a central shaft. A tensioning element can be engaged around the central shaft. A ring element can be used to prevent the tensioning element from disengaging the pulley when there is slack in the tensioning element. The tensioning element may provide support to various regions of the article of footwear or may be used to close the throat of the article of footwear.

Abstract: The invention provides an improved boot support and shaping insert system to keep boots attached together in an upright position when not being worn. The system includes an elongated curved shaper mirroring the natural tapered silhouette of the lower leg. The system self-adjusts to adopt the shape and fill the cavity of the boot without applying pressure that causes the boot to stretch. The system's snug fit supports the weight of the boot when inserted and allows a convenient means to carry and transport the boots. It also contains a weighted element with odor neutralizing and moisture absorbing properties that keep boots dry and fresh. A portion of the system protrudes when inserted in a boot; this section includes a handle, visibility identifiers and a self adhering mechanism. The adhering mechanism allows a pair of shapers to adhere to each other as a system or remain detached.
