Abstract: A method for optimizing the take-off parameters of an aircraft. The aircraft comprises a system for automatically controlling the high lift devices at the moment when the wheels of the aircraft leave the ground. The method comprises a step of selecting a first configuration of the high lift devices at the start of the take-off phase and a selection of an acceleration speed of the aircraft. The method is advantageous in that, on reception of an actual aircraft take-off detection signal, a control unit is configured to transmit a control command making it possible to bring the high lift devices into a second configuration, in which they are retracted relative to the first position, and consecutively accelerate the speed of the aircraft automatically to an acceleration speed entered by the pilot.

Abstract: A power harvesting system employs a saturable core transformer having two primary windings and at least one secondary winding. One of the primary windings is a high impedance winding, and the other primary winding is a low impedance winding. The two primary windings are connected with the load (motor). The secondary winding provides power to the circuit components of a replacement electronic thermostat. Relay contacts connects A/C power to either the high impedance primary winding or to the low impedance primary winding. When the relay is de-energized, A/C power is applied to the high impedance winding so that a relatively small amount of current flows through both the high impedance winding. This current is low enough that it does not energize the motor but is sufficient to generate the required voltage to transfer power to the secondary winding and is used to power the electronic thermostat.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for determining hours of utility of an application per amount of energy consumed by the application for a wide variety of device types. For each subsystem of a client device, a model of the subsystem is used to estimate a portion of the total energy consumed by the subsystem during a predetermined period of time. Energy consumed by a subsystem is apportioned to one or more applications or daemons that utilize the subsystem. Energy usage by a daemon is apportioned to one or more applications that the daemon performs work on behalf of. A large sample of application energy consumption information is gathered by an energy server and provided to an application information server that is accessible by developers. Thus, a developer can view energy consumption vs. application utility, by client device type and by subsystem for the client device type.

Abstract: This relates to an event sensing device that includes an event sensing panel and is able to dynamically change the granularity of the panel according to present needs. Thus, the granularity of the panel can differ at different times of operation. Furthermore, the granularity of specific areas of the panel can also be dynamically changed, so that different areas feature different granularities at a given time. This also relates to panels that feature different inherent granularities in different portions thereof. These panels can be designed, for example, by placing more stimulus and/or data lines in different portions of the panel, thus ensuring different densities of pixels in the different portions. Optionally, these embodiments can also include the dynamic granularity changing features noted above.
