Abstract: The input device according to an embodiment of the inventive concept may include a first sensor, a second sensor, or a sensor controller. The first sensor may receive a first acoustic signal generated by an acoustic signal generator. The second sensor may receive an abnormal signal different from the first acoustic signal. The sensor controller may receive a first sensing result from the first sensor and a second sensing result from the second sensor and output the sensing results to the electronic equipment. The first acoustic signal may be received by the first sensor through a housing that covers at least a portion of the electronic equipment. The input device according to an embodiment of the inventive concept may sense the acoustic signal and a signal different therefrom, sense whether the electronic equipment is in an abnormal state, and filter the acoustic signal.

Abstract: The rejection of undesired touch events on a touch surface is disclosed. A weighted meta-centroid of all touch events can be computed. In some examples, touches can be weighted inversely to their size and distance to the nearest neighboring touch. In some examples, touches can be weighted based on the size of their minor radii. A meta-ellipse can be fit to the weighted touch events. In some examples, the major axis of the meta-ellipse can be used to determine the orientation of a user's hand to reject undesired touches. In other examples, touches within the meta-ellipse can be rejected.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes projecting a structured light pattern projected onto a surface and detecting and responding to interactions with the same. The techniques described here can, in some cases, facilitate recognizing that an object such as a user's hand is adjacent the plane of a projection surface and can distinguish the object from the projection surface itself. Movement of the object then can be interpreted, for example, as a specified type of gesture that can trigger a specified type of operation to occur.

Abstract: A visualization can include a set of swim lanes, each swim lane representing information about an event type. An event type can be specified, e.g., as those events having certain keywords and/or having specified value(s) for specified field(s). The swim lane can plot when (within a time range) events of the associated event type occurred. Specifically, each such event can be assigned to a bucket having a bucket time matching the event time. A swim lane can extend along a timeline axis in the visualization, and the buckets can be positioned at a point along the axis that represents the bucket time. Thus, the visualization may indicate whether events were clustered at a point in time. Because the visualization can include a plurality of swim lanes, the visualization can further indicate how timing of events of a first type compare to timing of events of a second type.

Abstract: Calendar events can be stored for calendar applications by providing a set of available intent-time options. When an input indicative of an event for a calendar item is received, an appropriate intent-time from the set of available intent-time options can be determined and any parameters suitable for the appropriate intent-time can be identified. The event can then be stored with a start property according to the appropriate intent-time and any of the parameters identified from the input. The set of available intent-time options can include a standard time option and one or more trigger-based time options such as astronomical phenomena-based time and tide-based time.
