Abstract: Embodiments herein describe a digital simulation environment that changes the delay of a digital signal to represent different analog reference voltages. For example, changing the length of time the digital signal is at the logical one state versus the time the digital signal is at the logical zero state may represent an analog reference voltage that is below or above an optimal value. Put differently, the digital simulation environment can insert unequal delay shifts relative to the logical one and zero states of the digital signal to represent different analog voltages. Using these unequal delay shifts, a digital simulation system can test the simulated operation of logic representing a physical system that uses an analog reference voltage as an input to determine if the logic behaves as expected.

Abstract: A system may include an input engine and a void avoidance engine. The input engine may access an electronic circuit design of an electronic design automation (EDA) tool as well as identify a first net and a second net in the electronic circuit design. The void avoidance engine may perform a void avoidance verification scan to determine whether the first net, the second net, or both, are within a threshold distance from any voids in the electronic circuit design. The void avoidance engine may also generate a double violation alert responsive to a determination that the first net and the second net are both within the threshold distance from a particular void in the electronic circuit design and that the first net and the second net are located on different sides of the same plane of the electronic circuit design.

Abstract: In a general aspect, a method for inferring one or more biomolecule-to-biomolecule interaction sites includes receiving data representative of a plurality of prediction models. Each prediction model is associated with a different atom type of a plurality of atom types and characterizes biomolecule-to-biomolecule interaction site specific patterns common to a plurality of three dimensional probability density maps. Each three dimensional probability density map is associated with a corresponding biomolecule of a plurality of biomolecules included in a training data set and represents a probability of a non-covalent interacting atom on a surface of the corresponding biomolecule interacting with the atom type associated with the prediction model. Data representative of a query biomolecule is received, the data including one or more unknown biomolecule-to-biomolecule interaction sites.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods for determining the ploidy status of a chromosome in a gestating fetus from genotypic data measured from a mixed sample of DNA comprising DNA from both the mother of the fetus and from the fetus, and optionally from genotypic data from the mother and father. The ploidy state is determined by using a joint distribution model to create a plurality of expected allele distributions for different possible fetal ploidy states given the parental genotypic data, and comparing the expected allelic distributions to the pattern of measured allelic distributions measured in the mixed sample, and choosing the ploidy state whose expected allelic distribution pattern most closely matches the observed allelic distribution pattern. The mixed sample of DNA may be preferentially enriched at a plurality of polymorphic loci in a way that minimizes the allelic bias, for example using massively multiplexed targeted PCR.

Abstract: Embodiments of techniques for analyzing one or more genomic regions of a genome of an organism. Data about a genomic region may be analyzed to determine an information content of the genomic region, which may indicate an amount of information provided by the genomic region. The data about the genomic region may be or include data identifying a chromatin state for the genomic region. A chromatin state may be one of a set of chromatin states that each define a different set of one or more chromatin characteristics. Chromatin characteristics may be structural and/or functional features of genomic regions. A chromatin state of a genomic region may be determined from, and describe, the genomic region such that when a genomic region has a set of one or more chromatin characteristics, a chromatin state associated with that combination of one or more chromatin characteristics is identified for the genomic region.

Abstract: Chording techniques are described that may be utilized in a variety of ways to provide inputs to a computing device. The computing device, for instance, may include sensors disposed on a housing of the computing device such that the sensors are configured to detect fingers of a user when grasping the device. Detection of a likely indexed relative position of the fingers of the user's hand in relation to each other, and even an amount of pressure used by respective ones of the fingers, may be used to define and input chords that may be used to initiate operations of the computing device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method for enhancing standard authentication systems to include risk-based decisions. Risk-based decisions can be selectively implemented within existing authentication systems to strategically modify and supplement security if an unacceptable risk is detected. Embodiments capture information pertaining to a user and user device. Information is stored to create a profile for the user and user device. A comparison between the stored information and live data can be performed within authentication systems to optimize security. If the results of the comparison demonstrate the presence of an acceptable risk, then the need for subsequent authentication can be reduced or eliminated, which improves a user experience.

Abstract: Examples include an authenticated access to manageability hardware components in a computing device. Some examples enumerate manageability hardware components connected to an operative system kernel of the computing device, the manageability hardware components comprising a bus configuration space and the bus configuration space comprising memory map registers. Some examples include encoding an address stored in the memory map registers of each of the manageability hardware components to produce encoded address to control unauthorized accesses and locks the bus configuration space of each manageability hardware component by setting a read-only attribute to the bus configuration space. Some examples reprogram, in response to a request for access of an authenticated OS component to a manageability hardware component, the memory map register of the requested manageability hardware component with an accessible address to provide the authenticated OS component with access to the manageability hardware component.
