Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for managing a physical inventory. Image data from a number of cameras is processed to recognize inventory items from identifying indicia and determine their respective locations to build a three-dimensional model of the inventory item distribution. Comparison with a database model of the inventory item distribution may indicate discrepancies, such as misplaced items. A picking agent may be dispatched to pick a target item by following a particular path, which may be designated in an overlay on a portable heads-up display. The picking agent may also perform a corrective inventory management action on a non-target item while picking the target item. The corrective inventory management action may include repositioning an item, reorienting the item for better visibility of its identifying indicia, replacing the item's identifying indicia, determining if the item is of expected weight, and gathering new image data.

The RF reader may be configured to receive unique identifying (ID) information from radiated sponges and provide the ID information to a wireless transmitter electrically connected to the RF reader. The system may include a handheld computer having a wireless port and configured to wirelessly receive the ID information of discarded surgical sponges from the wireless transmitter. The handheld computer may store in its memory ID information of a plurality of available surgical sponges comprising sponges available for use during the procedure and receive and store ID information of a plurality of unused surgical sponges comprising sponges that were not used during the procedure.

Upon receiving an image of a receipt (a receipt image) regarding a list of purchased items, receipt text is generated. The receipt text is processed to identify the purchased items in the receipt image. Accordingly, an iteration is begun to iterate through the item blocks of the receipt text. An item block corresponds to a discrete item in the receipt text. The processing comprises extracting textual elements from the item block and matching the textual elements to a known product. Upon matching the textual elements to a known product, the consumer inventory associated with the consumer is updated with regard to the purchase of the known product.

The system then determines which (if any) attended delivery/pickup locations (e.g., the attended delivery/pickup locations are not the on-line retailer) are near the individual and have the particular item in stock and notifies the individual. In various embodiments, the system enables the user to purchase or reserve the particular item at the particular attended delivery/pickup location.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for performing skill-based recommendation of events. During operation, the system obtains member attributes for a member of an online professional network. Next, the system matches the location of the member and one or more of the member attributes to event attributes of a set of events. The system then uses the member attributes and the event attributes to calculate a set of relevance scores representing a relevance of the events to the member. Finally, the system uses the set of relevance scores to output one or more of the events as recommendations to the member.

Abstract: An event can be stored using an indication of recurrence and an intent-time event time that includes a trigger indicator and optionally an offset. When a view of a calendar having intentional-time events is requested by a calendar application, a calendar service can search a storage resource for the requested calendar and any events that fall within a requested start time and end time. The identified events can be provided to a source of the request. Any intent-time event times that are stored as part of intentional-time events can be calculated based on their triggers and offsets. The calculations may be carried by the calendar service and the results provided to the calendar application or by the calendar application itself.
