Abstract: Articles of footwear or other foot-receiving devices include an upper/foot-covering member having medial and lateral strap tensioning components located on opposite sides of the ankle area. A securing system is provided that includes: (i) a first strap portion extending across the instep area, engaging the lateral strap tensioning component, and extending in front of the foot-insertion opening to the medial ankle side (where it may be secured), and (ii) a second strap portion extending across the instep area, engaging the medial strap tensioning component, and extending in front of the foot-insertion opening and to the lateral ankle side (where it may be secured). The first and second strap portions cross one another at two separated crossing locations.

Abstract: Shoe fastening apparatuses are used with shoes having hook-and-loop tying straps. The shoe fastening apparatuses comprise a hook-and-loop strap having a loop of material or a ring on a terminal end thereof. Systems of the present invention further comprise an engagement apparatus for manipulating the hook-and-loop strap and, more specifically, the loop of material or the ring thereof. Methods of using the shoe fastening apparatuses and the systems thereof are further provided herein.

Abstract: The invention relates to footwear and portions thereof having structural features and decorative designs thereon, and related systems and methods for manufacturing same. An example method for providing a feature on a surface of an object includes positioning a laser proximate the surface of the object, directing a laser beam from the laser to the surface of the object to mark or engrave at least a portion of the surface of the object, and moving at least one of the laser or the object to create a pattern on the surface of the object, the pattern providing at least one of an aesthetic or a structural feature on the surface of the object.

Abstract: Provided is a buckle including a plug member and a socket member. The plug member includes a plate extending forward from a lower end of a base and having a first magnet embedded in a middle portion thereof, and a holder protruding from a front end of the plate. The socket member includes an upper plate extending forward from an upper end of a base and having a second magnet embedded in a middle portion thereof, side plates formed on opposite sides of the upper plate, and a accommodation region formed inside the upper plate and the side plates so as to accommodate the plate therein. The upper plate has a holder aperture formed therein so that the holder is seated in the holder aperture when the plug member and the socket member are coupled to each other.

Abstract: Provided is a buckle including a plug member and a socket member, wherein the plug member includes lock arms and a guide rod located at a middle position between the lock arms, and the socket member includes a holder formed in a chamber so as to catch the lock arm. The guide rod is provided on the front end thereof with a holding member, and the socket member is centrally provided with a guide groove for the coupling of the guide rod and is also provided with a holding protrusion for the coupling of the holding member. As such, in addition to the coupling between the lock arm and the holder, another coupling structure is provided so as to prevent the buckle from being easily unfastened by unintentional external contact or pressure while ensuring convenient separation of the buckle with one hand as needed.

Abstract: An adjustable carrying pack includes a main body having an outer surface with an upper portion, a lower portion, and a rear portion. A first strap having a plurality of loops is disposed along a first side of the outer surface of the main body and a second strap having a plurality of loops is disposed along a second side of the outer surface of the main body. A bottom strap includes a fixed end and a free end having an attachment element. In a first configuration, the attachment element of the bottom strap is attached to a loop of the first strap. In a second configuration, the attachment element of the bottom strap is attached to a loop of the second strap.

Abstract: A collapsible canopy apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a canopy mounted onto a collapsible frame. The frame includes flexible and resilient spring members that are biased in an upright position. The spring members include arcuate regions that define the arcuate shape of the frame. The spring members are interconnected at flex points that enable the spring members to fold relative to one another by twisting and bending actions. These actions enable a user to collapse the frame into a folded, storable configuration. A harness disposed in an interior of the canopy includes a waistband and shoulder straps for enabling a user to fasten the canopy to his or her torso and suspend the canopy therefrom. The shoulder straps include fasteners configured to removably attach to the interior of the canopy. Slide ribs disposed on an interior of the canopy enable vertical adjustment of the waistband.

Some embodiments of the disclosed displays include an upper hanging tab configured to be releasably coupled to a financial transaction card; a lower enclosure detachably coupled to the hanging tab and defining an opening; and a card holder movably disposed within the enclosure and accessible through the opening, the card holder configured to be releasably coupled to a financial transaction card. In some of the disclosed displays, at least one surface of the enclosure comprises a sandpaper texture.

Abstract: An improved electromagnetic shielding card case comprising a front panel hingedly connected to a U-shaped member and a base member which sandwich an electromagnetic shielding member between them. A card slot is defined on its top by U-shaped member, its bottom by the shielding member, and its left, right and rear sides by a continuous inner wall extending downwards from the U-shaped member, whereby cards are able to be slidably inserted and removed at the front end of the case and shields cards inside the slot from RFID scanning. A resilient means frictionally engages the edges of cards in the slot so a user can shuffle through cards without any falling out, and allows the topmost card to be pushed forward and easily inserted into a chip and pin card reader. A soft rubber strap affixed to the back of the base member allows paper currency to be held securely.

Abstract: A light emitting system includes a bag that may contain items. A lighting unit is coupled to the bag and the lighting unit selectively illuminates the items thereby facilitating the items to be retrieved from the bag. The lighting unit is touch sensitive such that the lighting unit turns on when the lighting unit is touched. The lighting unit has a pair of intersecting arms such that the lighting unit has a cruciform shape.

Abstract: A luggage tracking and surveillance system uses a zipper pull attached to a conventional suitcase closure zipper and a retaining fastener attached to conventional fastening straps securing contents inside the suitcase. An observer is not aware of the specially designed zipper pull and retaining fastener because they mimic the appearance of their conventional counterparts. The external zipper pull communicates wirelessly with the retaining fastener inside the suitcase when a zipper pull touch sensor senses that the suitcase has been opened. This awakens a retainer fastener power supply and activates a recording system in the fastener to create a record of the person who opened the suitcase. The retaining fastener can also sense the presence of a human and independently activate the recording system. Recorded still pictures, video, and audio, along with location information supplied by GPS circuitry in the zipper pull and/or retaining fastener, are transmitted to a remote database.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a retractable extension handle for an item of luggage, the retractable extension handle comprising a hollow grip, a motion transfer element, a button coupled to the hollow grip and to the motion transfer element, a motion transfer rod coupled to the motion transfer element and to an actuator, and an engagement latch coupled to the actuator. The motion transfer element is set within an interior space of the hollow grip and has a shape that is substantially similar to a shape of at least a portion of the hollow grip. The button enables a user to retract and extend the retractable extension handle. The engagement latch is configured to fix a position of the retractable extension handle relative to the item of luggage. The hollow grip is configured to rotate relative to the actuator.

Abstract: A sports bag includes a top portion having a pair of openings or a sleeve through which an athlete's stick or bat may be mounted. The stick or bat when mounted on the sports bag provides a handle for carrying the sports bag. Preferably, the sports bag is slung over the shoulder of the athlete. The sports bag may be in the form of an elongated triangular shape having a bottom which is substantially rectangular, the narrow portion of the sports bag being positioned on a top thereof. The front end includes a contour to fit around and over the shoulder of the athlete. The invention also includes a method of carrying sporting equipment using the sports bag and sliding a sport's stick through the openings or sleeve and using the stick as the handle to carry the sports bag.

At least two elongated ties located on opposite sides of the side walls are adapted to be twisted for securing the wrap on the user's head. A material loop is located on a back base of the pouch to hold the ties in place. An attachment means located on a bottom edge of the pouch mates with the attachment means of the cap portion. A crown loop located on the top section is adapted to hold the pouch after the pouch is twisted and lifted toward the top section. The pouch is adapted to lay untwisted when the wrap is in an extended position, and to be twisted and lifted upward when the wrap is in a wrapped position.

The applicator assembly includes an actuator movable relative to the housing so as to activate the fluid transfer mechanism when the actuator is reciprocated. A fluid delivery element is held in contact against skin of a user for applying the fluid onto the skin. The fluid delivery element is supported on the actuator to be movable together with the actuator by varying contact pressure with the skin. Each movement of the actuator generates continuous negative pressure within the liner for drawing fluid through the fluid transfer mechanism and collapsing the liner.

The bed covering or blanket apparatus contains means to cover an entire bed while directing pressurized conditioned air to specific zones of the bed. There is connection of two independent supplies of conditioned air into a single top layer of bedding under which multiple bed occupants sleep, to evenly distribute such independent supplies into specific dual zone areas. The apparatus achieves its function by utilizing materials that are ordinarily used in existing bed linens and comforters.
