Abstract: Four zebrafish gene promoters, which are skin specific, muscle specific, skeletal muscle specific and ubiquitously expressed respectively, were isolated and ligated to the 5? end of the EGFP gene. When the resulting chimeric gene constructs were introduced into zebrafish, the transgenic zebrafish emit green fluorescence under a blue light or ultraviolet light according to the specificity of the promoters used. Thus, new varieties of ornamental fish of different fluorescence patterns, e.g., skin fluorescence, muscle fluorescence, skeletal muscle-specific and/or ubiquitous fluorescence, are developed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mouse (Mus musculus) in which expression and site-specific modification of a target protein is temporally and spatially controlled, and a method for producing the same and the use thereof, and more particularly to a transgenic mouse in which expression of a target protein having a modification attached to a specific position is temporally and spatially controlled as a result of incorporation of an unnatural amino acid. In the mouse according to the present invention, in which site-specific modification of a target protein is temporally and spatially controllable, expression of the target protein having the site-specific modification attached thereto is controllable depending on the timing and/or position of introduction of an unnatural amino acid. Thus, the mouse according to the present invention is useful for studies on the in vivo functions of cellular proteins, various human diseases including cancers and neurodegenerative disorders, new drug discovery, and the like.

Abstract: A process where materials are applied to a plastic fishing lure surface, producing a lure that possesses chromatic vicissitude as a result of water temperature fluctuations. A non-thermochromatic base layer of one or more colors is applied to the plastic fishing lure. This layer acts as the visual appearance of the fishing lure in the absence of temperature fluctuations. Clear extender is then used as an additive to the thermochromatic ink. This addition to the ink then allows the ink to be sprayed onto the surface of the lure. This ink-extender amalgam can be applied in multiple layers however the bottom layer must have the least amount of hue saturation. Each layer thereafter would increase in hue saturation. Multiple hue combinations can be utilized. Once the desired number of thermochromatic layers has been applied, an ultra-clear super high gloss lacquer finish is sprayed on to the exterior of all layers.

Abstract: Compositions are provided that improve overall plant vigor and yield by combining agriculturally effective amounts of at least one environmentally friendly biological control agent and at least one chemical fungicide. A composition of the present invention is particularly effective in the presence of fungal species. Use of a composition of the present invention leads to an overall reduction in crop losses caused by fungi and this reduction is much greater than would have been expected from application of either component alone. Methods for utilizing compositions of the present invention are also provided. Further the compositions according to this invention display synergistic insecticidal and/or fungicidal activity.

Abstract: A synergistic composition comprising a THP salt and a biopenetrant, in which the biopenetrant comprises a polymer of an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a copolymer of an unsaturated carboxylic acid with a sulphonic acid, said polymer or copolymer being terminated by a mono- or diphosphonated unsaturated carboxylic acid group or having such monomers incorporated into the polymer backbone. This composition acts synergistically to enhance the biocidal efficacy of the THP salt against both planktonic (free-swimming) and sessile (attached) bacteria, and also acts synergistically to enhance the efficacy of the THP salt in the dissolution of iron sulphide scale.
