Abstract: A safety restraint system for use by a worker working in a bucket, including a primary tether line that securely encircles the bucket at a position adjacent to the upper rim thereof; at least a pair of straps connected to the tether line on opposite sides of the bucket; a safety harness or aerial belt adapted to be worn by the worker and having at least a pair of clips attached thereto; and at least a pair of straps that interconnect the harness buckles to the straps on the tether line, thereby interconnecting the harness to the tether line.

Abstract: A mounting device and method of mounting an automatic stovetop fire suppressor are provided herein. Stovetop fires are a well-known residential and commercial hazard. Common parts are utilized across the stovetop fire suppressors employed in different stovetop configurations, reducing inventory count. The mount design can be automated for greater efficiency of time and labor and may provide increased production or throughput. A magnet is attached at the factory for the vent hood product, eliminating the need for such assembly by an end user. This attachment also alleviates loss or misplacement of the magnet during unpacking or installation. A threaded insert is staked to the fire suppressor can and affords reliable retention of the magnet to the fires suppressor can. The present designs enables formation of a consistent vent area in the fire suppressor can.

Abstract: A cellular phone case in combination with a flexible packet holding an admixture of water and super absorbent material to provide heat dissipation, heat indication, and fire extinguishment properties. The cellular phone case has a translucent rear surface and the packet fits inside the case between the bottom surface of the case and the underside of a cellular phone. The packet dissipates heat during a recharging condition, and provides a fire retardant agent to arrest a lithium battery meltdown.

Abstract: A quint configuration fire apparatus includes a chassis, a body assembly coupled to the chassis and having a storage area configured to receive a ground ladder and a fire hose, a pump coupled to the chassis, a water tank coupled to the chassis, a ladder assembly having a proximal end that is coupled to the chassis, a single front axle coupled to a front end of the chassis, and a single rear axle coupled to a rear end of the chassis. The center of gravity of at least one of the chassis, the body assembly, the pump, and the water tank are positioned to counterbalance a moment generated by a tip load with the ladder assembly extended to the horizontal reach of at least 90 feet.

Abstract: A cage for generating fire-fighting foam from fluid containing foaming agent released from a sprinkler may be constructed from woven screen or expanded lattice having screen openings having a diameter between 1 mm and 7 mm and/or lattice openings having a width between 1 and 7 mm and a length between 2 mm and 9 mm. The cage has dimensions which permit an intermediate space between a fluid exit opening and spray plate of the sprinkler to be surrounded radially with a height and a width: the height corresponds to at least 0.20 times the external diameter of the spray plate; the internal diameter of the cage, alternatively the non-circular minimum spacing between the opposite internal sides of the cage, at the level of the spray plate, corresponds to at least the external diameter of the spray plate.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an example method for expelling a fire suppressant from a container into a distribution manifold. The method includes generating a propellant gas that flows into the container via a first port of the container, thereby causing a pressure within the container to increase. The container includes the fire suppressant prior to the generation of the propellant gas. The method further includes, in response to the pressure within the container exceeding a threshold pressure, expelling the fire suppressant from a second port of the container into the distribution manifold. The generated propellant gas continues to flow into the container via the first port at least until substantially all of the fire suppressant included within the container prior to the generation of the propellant gas is expelled from the container via the second port. Example fire suppression systems are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: One example of a redundant vent for a water-based fire sprinkler system having a pipe network includes a unitary valve body defining a primary valve chamber and a redundant valve chamber, a primary float valve positioned within the primary valve chamber, and a redundant float valve positioned within the redundant valve chamber. The primary float valve and the primary valve chamber form a primary gas vent. The redundant float valve and the redundant valve chamber form a redundant gas vent. The primary gas vent is coupled to the redundant gas vent. The primary gas vent and the redundant gas vent are each configured to vent gas but not water from the pipe network when the redundant vent is coupled to the pipe network. Various optional features, components and water-based fire sprinkler systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: A dry alarm valve assembly, for controlling a sprinkler firefighting system, has a first inlet connected to a pressurised air source, a second inlet connected to a pressurised water source, an outlet connected to a network of channels for supplying the sprinklers, and a valve that opens/closes a flow of water from the second inlet to the outlet; between the valve and the outlet there is a chamber communicating with the first inlet through a first pneumatic line, which includes a one-way valve; the assembly is provided with a blocking device to hold the valve closed and provided with a second pneumatic line, which is connected to an actuator of the blocking device so as to operate such actuator by means of pressurised air.

Abstract: A fire sprinkler system according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes a pipe having a first pipe portion and a second pipe portion. The first pipe portion includes a wall having a first wall thickness, and the second pipe portion includes a wall having a second wall thickness that is greater than the first wall thickness. The fire sprinkler system further includes structure coupled to the pipe and defining a sealed chamber between the structure and at least the first pipe portion, and a sensor for sensing a pressure in the sealed chamber. Example corrosion monitoring devices and methods for monitoring corrosion in pipe systems, including fire sprinkler systems, are also disclosed.

Abstract: A torsion spring trampoline has a frame having a horizontal frame member and vertical members. The trampoline also has a trampoline bed that users can jump on. A plurality of torsion springs connect the trampoline bed to the frame. The torsion springs have a coil allowing bending of the torsion springs inward toward a middle of the trampoline bed. The trampoline bed is in a loaded state. Torsion springs preferably have at least a first coil turn. Torsion springs may also have have a second coil turn in addition to the first coil turn. Torsion springs may also have a third coil turn in addition to the second coil turn and in addition to the first coil turn. Torsion springs may also have a fourth coil turn in addition to the third coil turn, the second coil turn, and the first coil turn.

Abstract: A pole vault swing-up rack includes a frame body with upper hooks and a lower push bracket. The rack is designed to hang vertically from a horizontal bar—as a pull-up bar—by the hooks. An athlete hanging from the pull-up bar in an upright vertical position may kick his/her legs and torso up to an inverted vertical position to simulation movement of a pole vault. The athlete's shoulder rests against vertical uprights of the rack to maintain the athlete's shoulders and body in front of a vertical plane as in a pole vault. A trainer can use the lower push bracket to assist the athlete in the kicking motion. The parts of the rack that come into contact with the athlete may be covered in foam padding and a rubber coating.

Abstract: A plank support exercise apparatus and related methods is provided. The plank support exercise apparatus has a hand grip and a frame member extending from the hand grip. At least one arm support pad is connected to the frame member, wherein a distance between the hand grip and the at least one arm support pad is adjustable. A ground-interface surface is positioned along at least a portion of the frame member.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for arranging dimples on a golf ball surface in which the dimples are arranged in a pattern derived from at least one irregular domain generated from a regular or non-regular polyhedron. The method includes choosing control points of a polyhedron, generating an irregular domain based on those control points, packing the irregular domain with dimples, and tessellating the irregular domain to cover the surface of the golf ball. The control points include the center of a polyhedral face, a vertex of the polyhedron, a midpoint or other point on an edge of the polyhedron and others. The method ensures that the symmetry of the underlying polyhedron is preserved while minimizing or eliminating great circles due to parting lines.

An extrusion-molded thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) is hot compressed molding material with a backing fabric to form a pseudo-adhesive semi-finished molding material. The semi-finished molding material is cut to be a piece unit and remain a surplus material. The piece unit is cured to form a flat piece material or a curved piece material. It may shorten the process and control the parameters and changes (such like foaming coefficient, colors, and etc.) easily. Furthermore, the strength of the ball cover may become stronger because each flat piece material or curved piece material has the arrangement of the backing fabric.

Most preferably, the wedge and joint are molded about the interface portion and a handle preform is then inserted into the intention of the interface portion and the handle is then molded. Wedge hardness is selectable and a stiffness member may also be employed. Stiffness member hardness may be selectable or may be adjustable by varied adjustment of a cap in relation to the barrel. Alternatively, the cap may not be adjustable in relation to the barrel so that a selected stiffness member hardness is fixed.

Abstract: A hockey puck is disclosed including an internal signal transmitter enabling instantaneous identification of its position as it moves around. The puck includes two molded subcomponents, which encapsulate the signal transmitter. The signal transmitter may include driver electronics and a number of signal transmitters which together generate and emit an electromagnetic signal. The electromagnetic signal may be emitted by a plurality of diodes mounted in cavities in the subcomponents, for example around an outer circumference of the hockey puck and through a top and bottom surfaces of the hockey puck. The puck may alternatively be formed of a material that allows electromagnetic radiation to be emitted through the subcomponents, and the diode cavities may be omitted.

The target includes a hoop which is mounted at the top of a pole and is vertical, flat, and includes a resilient face stretched over a hoop. The bottom of the pole includes a spiral or screw auger anchor which allows the pole to be anchored into the ground.

The puck body has the dimensioning of a regulation hockey puck, while the shock cord is adaptable to different hockey sticks and skill levels of the individual user. The shock cord may be secured within a cavity of the puck body through a body hole thereof. The elasticity of the shock cord enables the user to repeatedly practice their passing skills as well as their receiving skills as the interconnected puck body elastically returns to the hockey stick during use.
