Abstract: The state of charge of a rechargeable battery is determined by calculating the DC impedance of the battery. The impedance is calculated by: performing a two different constant current discharges of the battery at a first and second C-rates, respectively; measuring the voltage and current during the interval of each constant current discharge and calculating the amount of charge extracted from the battery up to a point where the battery voltage drops to a threshold value; calculating the state of charge of the battery; and calculating the DC impedance of the battery as a function of the difference between the battery voltages and discharge currents for the two different discharges.

Abstract: An improved battery level indicator is provided. A first portion of the battery level indicator can be filled with a first color to indicate a charge level or remaining power level of a battery. A second portion of the battery level indicator can be filled with a second color to indicate a discharge level or consumed power level of the battery. As the battery power continues to be consumed, the battery level indicator re-colors both portions of the battery level indicators periodically with the first and second colors. In some implementations, a small gap portion can be displayed between the two portions described above, and the small gap portion can be filled with a third color, with a color intensity level in between the first and second colors.

Abstract: A magnetic field measuring apparatus includes a first processor, a second processor, a motion sensor and a magnetic field sensor. The second processor has higher processing capability than the first processor. The first processor makes the second processor perform certain processing. When it is determined that the state of motion measured by the motion sensor is at a predetermined level or more, the second processor performs a magnetic field correction setting operation as one of the certain processing. The magnetic field correction setting operation involves retrieving measurement values of magnetic field from the magnetic field sensor which are measured at different postures according to a change of the state of motion, and determining an offset correction value for the geomagnetic field based on the measurement values.

Abstract: Systems and methods for mapping the transmit sensitivity of one or more radio frequency (“RF”) coils for use in magnetic resonance imaging (“MRI”) are described. The transmit RF field (“B1+”) for an RF coil, or an array of RF coils, is mapped using a robust, motion-insensitive technique that implements Bloch-Siegert shifts performed with interleaved positive and negative off-resonance shifts. The motion insensitivity of this technique makes it particularly useful for applications where there is significant motion, such as cardiac imaging, in which previous B1+ mapping techniques are not as accurate or effective.

  • Publication number: 20180067205
Abstract: The various technologies presented herein relate to identification and mitigation of spurious energies or signals (aka “spurs”) in radar imaging. Spurious energy in received radar data can be a consequence of non-ideal component and circuit behavior. Such behavior can result from I/Q imbalance, nonlinear component behavior, additive interference (e.g. cross-talk, etc.), etc. The manifestation of the spurious energy in a radar image (e.g., a range-Doppler map) can be influenced by appropriate pulse-to-pulse phase modulation. Comparing multiple images which have been processed using the same data but of different signal paths and modulations enables identification of undesired spurs, with subsequent cropping or apodization of the undesired spurs from a radar image. Spurs can be identified by comparison with a threshold energy. Removal of an undesired spur enables enhanced identification of true targets in a radar image.

Abstract: A driving assist ECU which performs collision avoidance control for the target based on a detection result of a target around an own vehicle by a radar device acquires, at a predetermined cycle, angle deviation information of the radar device in the vertical direction, the angle deviation information being calculated from a detection position of the target, and calculates an axis deviation angle by performing statistical processing of a history of the angle deviation information acquired after activation, the axis deviation angle being a deviation amount of a mounting angle of the radar device in the vertical direction. Until a predetermined initial time period elapses after the activation, a limitation is imposed on the collision avoidance control for, among targets detected by the radar device, a stationary target which is a target corresponding to a stationary object.
