Abstract: A composition and method of forming a wellbore cement that includes a cross-linked polyamide. The polyamide is formed by reacting a di-functional amine with an aromatic tri-functional carboxylic acid. The wellbore cement composition is created by blending cement and water with the polyamide and then allowed to cure. Increases in compressive strength, Young's Modulus, and Poisson's Ratio of the cement were realized by adding the polyamide to the cement composition.

The hybrid organic/inorganic quantum dot composite includes quantum dot, polymer resin, and silica, in which the silica is formed in the polymer resin, one end of the polymer resin forms a chemical bond with the quantum dot, and another end of the polymer resin includes a functional group capable of forming an additional chemical bond. The hybrid organic/inorganic quantum dot composite is resistant to moisture and oxygen permeation, and thus, it is not degraded easily by bonding oxygen and moisture to quantum dots even if moisture and oxygen permeate into the composite. The quantum dot composite may be used as a secondary raw material capable of being processed into another form while maintaining physical properties of quantum dots as a primary raw material.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a grease composition, for an outer ring rotation type rolling bearing, which is capable of satisfying all of high-temperature durability, low-temperature property, peeling resistance, and rust-preventive property. A grease composition (7) to be enclosed in the outer rig rotation type rolling bearing for use in automotive electric auxiliary machines contains base oil, a thickener, a peeling-resistant additive, a wear-resistant additive, and a rust-preventive agent. The base oil is mixed oil of trimellitic acid ester oil and synthetic hydrocarbon oil mixed therewith in a mass ratio of (70:30) to (90:10). The thickener consists of a diurea compound shown by a formula (1). R1—NHCONH—R2—NHCONH—R1??(1) wherein a reference symbol R2 denotes a divalent aromatic hydrocarbon group having a carbon number of 6 to 15, and a reference symbol R1 denotes a cyclohexyl group.

Abstract: Lubrication and friction reduction improves fuel efficiency and reduces energy consumption. Effective and controllable material removal results in superior surface finishing and planarization. Nanosheets are developed with specific functionalization that can be used to reduce friction and wear, improve the fluidic property, and rheological performance The nanosheets can be from the graphite family, transition metal dichalcogenides, transition metal trichalcogenides, semiconducting chalcogenides, metal oxides, layered hydroxides, clays, ternary transition metal carbides and nitrides, and zirconium phosphates and phosphonates, and their corresponding dopants. Tribological, rheological, and polishing applications include lubricants, viscosity modification, and chemical-mechanical planarization. The nanosheets are useful in improving efficiency and lifetime of machinery, saving energy for mechanical operations, and optimizing manufacturing processes in surface engineering.
