Patent number: 9956402Abstract: Radiopaque markers represent that a lead is suitable for a particular medical procedure such as a magnetic resonance image scan and are added to the lead or related device. The markers may be added after implantation of the lead in various ways including suturing, gluing, crimping, or clamping a radiopaque tag to the lead or to the device. The markers may be added by placing a radiopaque coil about the lead, and the radiopaque coil may radially contract against the lead to obtain a fixed position. The markers may be added by placing a polymer structure onto the lead where the polymer structure includes a radiopaque marker within it. The polymer structure may include a cylindrical aperture that contracts against the lead to fix the position of the structure. The polymer structure may form a lead anchor that includes suture wings that can be sutured to the lead.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2010Date of Patent: May 1, 2018Assignee: MEDTRONIC, INC.Inventors: James M. Patent number: 9956403Abstract: An active transdermal medicament patch includes a planar substrate with a therapeutic face releasably retainable against the skin of a patient. A return electrode and a medicament matrix susceptible to permeation by medicament are secured at separated locations on the therapeutic face and electrically conductively engage the skin. A detector monitors iontophoretic medicament migration into the skin. An integrator operating on the output of the detector produces a running cumulative total of the amount of medicament delivered during a plurality of temporally non-contiguous therapy subsessions. A circuit breaker terminates medicament migration, when the output of the integrator equals a predetermined medicament quantity. A timer active during medicament migration stimulates a driver to operate a light-emitting diode in a distinct delivery confirmation mode during each a sequence of non-overlapping predetermined therapy subsessions, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2014Date of Patent: May 1, 2018Assignee: Activatek, Inc.Inventor: Jamal S. Patent number: 9956442Abstract: A curtain is wound on a roller (2), provided in a head box (4), mounted in a ceiling (6). The curtain is also provided with a bottom bar (10). When the curtain is drawn up onto the roller, the bottom bar (10) can be used to close the head box (4). When deployed the bottom bar provides stability to the descending curtain, and in full deployment rests on the floor. The curtain is provided with additional strips (30) of fabric, to allow ease of roll up onto the roller. The strip(s) arc attached at their top end only, to the curtain. Typically this will be by sewing (32), but also may be rivets or other form of heat resistant connection. The strip(s) are also connected to the bottom bar. A cable (34) is attached to the strip(s), usually through a rivet, but any other form of secure attachment may be used. The cable is then connected to the bottom bar, via a spring (36). This connects to keep the strip(s) in tension, to enable ease of rolling of the curtain.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2014Date of Patent: May 1, 2018Inventors: Andrew Paul Cooper, James Martin Reed

Patent number: 9956443Abstract: Systems and methods for the protection of an attic or concealed combustible space defined by a ceiling base and a roof deck disposed above a ceiling base defining a peak are provided. A plurality of fluid distribution devices are spaced above the ceiling base and below the roof deck to define a peak region. At least one fire detection assembly is disposed in the peak region above the fluid distribution devices to detect a fire in the attic space. A controller couples the plurality of distribution devices to the fire detection assembly. The fluid distribution devices are disposed at a working clearance distance above the ceiling base to provide an extended protected eaves region of the attic space.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 2015Date of Patent: May 1, 2018Assignee: Tyco Fire Products LPInventor: Sean E. Patent number: 9956444Abstract: The present invention relates to a gas extinguishing system for a predefined protected area, particularly small-parts storage systems, wherein the gas extinguishing system comprises an inert gas source and a diffuser system fluidly connected to the inert gas source by a tubing system. The diffuser system comprises a diffuser tube having a plurality of drill holes provided in the surface of the diffuser tube and a pressure reducer allocated to the diffuser tube. In order to be able to achieve non-interactiveness with respect to the diffuser system from the standpoint of the design of the gas extinguishing system, the inventive provides for designing the diffuser system such that a primary baffle pressure measured in absolute bar is at least twice as high as the internal pressure of the diffuser tube during the flooding period dimensioned for the protected area and that the internal pressure of the diffuser tube during the dimensioned flooding period is at a maximum of 2 bar absolute.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 2015Date of Patent: May 1, 2018Assignee: AMRONA AGInventor: Anselm Eberlein

Patent number: 9956445Abstract: A fire suppression system for a fire zone including a first tank containing a first liquid component of a two-part foam and a second tank containing a second liquid component of the foam. The system includes at least one liquid component release device configured to be selectively capable of releasing the first and second components from their respective containers upon receipt of a signal from a fire detector upon detection of a fire. The two-part foam components are propelled through the system by a pressurized propellant that, upon release of the release device, causes the exit of the foam components from their respective tanks, through a mixing conduit to at least one nozzle. The nozzle is configured to spray the liquid component foam mixture into the fire zone wherein the foam cures into a substantially semi-rigid, closed cell foam that is substantially impermeable and may have charring and/or intumescence properties.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2016Date of Patent: May 1, 2018Inventor: William Armand Enk, Sr.

Patent number: 9956446Abstract: Various mist-type fire protection systems for the protection of light and ordinary hazard occupancies of reduced water demand as compared to known mist type systems or sprinkler systems configured to protect the same occupancies. Three system configurations are defined by varying design criteria for the installation of: mist devices having an enlarged coverage area alone or in combination with known nozzles or sprinklers. The preferred mist devices provide for the protection of at least one of a light hazard occupancy only and a light and ordinary hazard occupancy having a ceiling with a maximum ceiling height of at least 8 ft. The preferred device include a body having a passageway defining a K-factor of less than 1 gpm/psi1/2. The preferred device includes means for diffusing the fluid at a flux density of less than 0.1 gpm/sq. ft. for a fluid pressure at the inlet of less than 500 psi. to define a coverage area of the device of over than 132 sq. ft., preferably to a maximum of 256 sq. ft.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2015Date of Patent: May 1, 2018Assignee: Tyco Fire Products LPInventors: Luke S. Patent number: 9956448Abstract: Novel fluorosurfactants are provided that contain perfluoroalkyl groups no longer than perfluorohexyl (C6). The surfactants are useful in the preparation of aqueous film forming foams (AFFF) and alcohol-resistant film-forming foams (AR-AFFF) for firefighting. Unexpectedly, these compounds have activity in AFFF and AR-AFFF applications that is comparable and even superior to conventional surfactants that contain perfluoroalkyl groups that are perfluorooctyl (C8) and longer. Also provided are methods of making the novel surfactants, as well as foam concentrates, methods of making foam and methods of fighting fires using foam containing the novel surfactants.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2014Date of Patent: May 1, 2018Assignee: TYCO FIRE PRODUCTS LPInventor: Thomas Joseph Martin
