The device has an enveloping unit defining a vacuum chamber adapted to accommodate part of the opening of a food packaging bag, and a suction unit adapted to suction air and make a vacuum, in the vacuum chamber. The enveloping unit and the suction unit are reciprocally movable independently from one another, with the enveloping unit being fluidically connected to the suction unit by means of a suction pipe.

A conveying system moves trayed food products through the wrapping machine. The machine may include a printer and label apply arrangement positioned for applying labels to trayed food products after wrapping, where the printer and label apply arrangement includes a support that is pivotable between an operating position and an access position. The film dispensing system may include a knife movable for cutting the film, and opposite ends of the knife are mechanically linked via spaced apart first and second belts to maintain alignment of the opposite ends.

Abstract: An automated method of unpacking a container containing semiconductor wafers from a sealed bag is provided. The method includes inflating the bag with a gas using an automated gas dispenser. After inflating the bag, the bag is cut using an automated cutting device to expose the container, and the cut bag is removed from around the container.

Abstract: An automatic taking-out device is configured by providing a package holding unit that holds the package; a cutting unit that cuts the two packaging sheet materials of the package in a held state in two cutting spots that are respectively present between the joining portions and the contents and that face each other with the contents therebetween; a pair of suction units that respectively suction and hold the two packaging sheet materials inside the two cutting spots; a driving unit that moves at least one of the suction units in a direction separated from the contents; and an inclining unit that inclines the two packaging sheet materials inside the two cutting spots and the contents in a state where a positional deviation in an up-down direction occurs with respect to the two cutting spots, and drops the contents out of the two packaging sheet materials.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are tape opening systems, containers, and methods to produce display-ready containers formed of paper-based substrates. The clean tear openings of the disclosed containers are accomplished through novel incorporations of monoaxiaily oriented films with directional tear properties. Also disclosed are closure and opening systems for multi-wall and polywoven pinch bottom open mouth bags using same monoaxially tearable films.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a modular deck system that utilizes a combination of a movable platform having a plurality of vertical posts with engagement members. Decks, filled with freight, can be placed onto the vertical posts at various heights at different sections of the movable platform using a conveyance vehicle. Further, the height of the vertical posts can be extended using an extension post for securing tall cargo. The decks can also be locked to the vertical posts to prevent dislodgement of the deck during transport of the movable platform.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a movable platform (MP) for moving freight during cross-dock operations. The MP comprises a mechanical actuation assembly used to deploy a plurality of roller assemblies used for moving the MP. Also disclosed is an actuating attachment used to deploy the mechanical actuation assembly of the MP. The actuating attachment can be attached to a conveyance vehicle, such as a forklift, or built in to an automated guided vehicle.

Abstract: A storage container (10) has a storage vessel (12) and a lid (14). The lid has clips (16) for attaching it to the storage vessel. The storage vessel (12) has a separate lip (20) assembled onto an opening flange (72) of the storage vessel. The lip seals with a circumferential member (18) of the lid (14). The lip 20 thus allows the opening flange (72) to form a seal with the lid (14). This provides greater freedom in the manufacturing techniques used for the storage vessel (12) whilst still enabling a seal with the lid (14).There is also a concertina-type vessel described in combination with the lid.

The cardholder includes an upper longitudinal edge, a lower longitudinal edge, and lateral edges, all of which surround and protect a frame, the frame including a transparent sheet. The upper longitudinal edge includes a trapezoidal opening having a slope that increases from bottom to top for inserting a label, and the lateral edges include female projections that couple to lugs included in the walls of the container.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for creating highly articulated lenses and lens arrays from the combined effect of a clear-sided container of clear liquid whose sides are of uniform, conventional thickness, and may therefore be manufactured with conventional methods at conventional prices. The container's sides are shaped into the form of the surface of a lens or lens array, and in combination with the clear fluid within, whose index of refraction is close to that of the container wall, performs the function normally performed by a single lens of glass or plastic and focuses light on a plane within, or outside of said container. Such a container can be used both as an enhanced labeling display for clear fluid containers such as water, soda, liquors, liquid soap and many other liquid products, as well for as a display device only, enabling otherwise impractically thick and expensive lenses.

The tube is configured to insert a first food item through the first end into the internal space. The cap is positioned to couple to the tube. The cap sealably couples to the gasket to sealably close the first end, such that the internal space is substantially air and water tight.

A circumferential width of the attitude maintaining piece (32c) is formed to be narrower than a circumferential width of a flap body (32a).

Abstract: A food storage unit provides a container and a cover which use an interference fit to snap the cover onto the container. The two engage with each other by a first lip (of the container) and a second lip (of the cover). The lips are configured to have an obtuse angle of 95 degrees, helping to create a better fit between the two. The second lip deforms when placed over the first lip; the resulting pressure and friction helps to seal the cover to the container. To help create a more secure attachment, a latching member is connected to the second lip. The latching member is positioned just below the first lip, such that the cover cannot be lifted straight up until a person manually moves the latching member away from the first lip. This helps prevent the cover from accidentally coming loose from the container.

Abstract: A tamper-evident container includes a base and a lid. A base extension and a lid extension are connected to a hinge to join the base and the lid together in a closed, pre-use configuration. A tab extends from either the lid extension or the base extension in a direction away from the lid and the base such that the tab extends beyond the hinge. The tab is joined to one of the extensions via weakened regions that can be torn when the tab is pulled to indicate that the container has been tampered with or opened.
