Publication number: 20180140433Abstract: Disclosed is an implantable artificial intervertebral disc joint replacement device for implantation between adjacent vertebral bodies. The device allows selective positioning of a disc implant element and comprises translatable surfaces, a mechanism for translation, a means for bone attachment, and an integrated disc implant. The device can be used in the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical regions of the spine in single or multi-level configurations. When implanted in a patient, the device includes an upper (cranial) component and a lower (caudal) component attached to the vertebral body above and below the replaced intervertebral disc respectively, with the joint implant integrated into the translatable surfaces. Following implantation, precise positioning of the joint implant within the intervertebral space with respect to the spinal axis is then adjusted based upon the particular anatomical and functional needs of the individual patient to satisfy spinal range of motion and stability requirements.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 29, 2017Publication date: May 24, 2018Inventor: Ben Cannon

The protective device cover includes a solid sheet of material with an adhesive on one side which can be used to apply the cover directly onto the portion directly around and adjacent to the anus after it has been inserted into the crevice. The cover also includes slits or holes through which evacuated material may pass through. The cover may also be made from a “plastic wrap” type material that adheres to human skin when pressure is applied. In an alternate embodiment, a wiping pad is provided between two layers of the cover, which traverses the hole opening when a string is pulled to effect at least partial cleaning in the anus area. This almost eliminates the need for toilet paper, keeps the body clean, and avoids excessive contamination.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2018Publication date: May 24, 2018Inventor: C. Publication number: 20180140475Abstract: An absorbent article can have a chassis which can have a backsheet layer, a topsheet layer, and an absorbent system positioned between the backsheet layer and the topsheet layer. A portion of the backsheet layer can be bonded to a portion of the topsheet layer in an area. A pair of non-integral side covers can be bonded to the chassis in a position which overlays the bond between the backsheet layer and the topsheet layer. A pair of non-integral wings can be bonded to the backsheet layer of the chassis and are separate from the side covers.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 29, 2015Publication date: May 24, 2018Inventors: JuHyung Lee, SungSu A. Publication number: 20180140477Abstract: A low bulk, high capacity disposable absorbent pant is disclosed. The pant may have a variety of combinations of features that contribute to imparting the pant with a more close-fitting, discreet appearance, particularly under outer clothing, more resembling that of an ordinary undergarment. The features may include an arrangement of relatively closely-spaced elastomeric strands in a belt structure; elastomeric strands in the belt structure having active portions that traverse forward and rearward portions of an absorbent pad assembly; an arrangement of elastomeric strands in the belt structure below the side seams; an arrangement of longitudinal elastic strands in the absorbent pad assembly that are closer to the longitudinal axis of the pant than to the side seams; and/or an absorbent core structure having portions that are tapered and/or channeled.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2016Publication date: May 24, 2018Inventors: Ryo Minoguchi, Fred Naval Desai, Alexander Fedotov

Publication number: 20180140478Abstract: Provided are a composite sheet whose recess-protrusion shape can easily be made crush-resistant in a state that the soft feel against the skin is maintained, and a device and method for manufacturing said composite sheet. A first sheet has a curved part in which one surface thereof rises and the other surface thereof is recessed, and a boundary part adjacent to the curved part. A second sheet is joined to the boundary part of the first sheet so as to cover the other surface of the curved part. A region of the second sheet facing the curved part has a protruding part in which an inside surface on the first sheet side rises so as to approach the curved part and an outside surface on the reverse side thereof is recessed, and a flat part surrounding the periphery of the protruding part.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 16, 2016Publication date: May 24, 2018Inventor: Takeshi FUKUHARA

Publication number: 20180140479Abstract: An object of the present invention is to obtain a nonwoven fabric for an absorbent article that can produce a delicate, soft and smooth feel on the skin when it is contacted with a finger. The nonwoven fabric for an absorbent article has a configuration with a plurality of raised sections, and second hollow sections having, in first bottom sections of first hollow sections in a plurality of furrow sections provided in the spaces between adjacent raised sections, second bottom sections that are formed as depressions opening into the first bottom sections, the distance between the top section of any raised section and the top section of a raised section adjacent to that raised section being 0.5 to 2 mm, and the mean fiber size of the fibers forming at least the raised sections of the nonwoven fabric being 10 to 30 ?m.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2015Publication date: May 24, 2018Inventors: Masashi UDA, Satoru SAKAGUCHI, Takuya MIYAMA

Publication number: 20180140481Abstract: An absorbent core assembly for use in a product for absorbing a liquid is disclosed. The core assembly has a first section and a second section. The first section is a quilted porous material that contains a slow acting but high absorption capacity SAP therein. The, second section is a quilted porous material that contains a fast acting but lower absorption capacity SAP therein. The first and second sections are in fluid communication with each other, whereupon a liquid which is exposed to the core assembly flows through the first section to the fast acting SAP in the second section to be absorbed quickly and rapidly by the fast acting SAP therein, while the slow acting SAP desorbs or takes liquid away from the fast acting SAP as well as absorbing the liquid itself to thereby trap the liquid in the core assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2018Publication date: May 24, 2018Inventors: Donald A. Publication number: 20180140482Abstract: The present invention relates to a package for an absorbent article with a permeable topsheet and an impermeable backsheet. The package comprises a flexible gas impermeable sheet on which the absorbent article is arranged such that the impermeable backsheet of the absorbent article is arranged on the flexible sheet. The flexible sheet is bent by describing a first section, a second section and a third section, the first section being folded over the second section such that upon folding of the absorbent article, the topsheet is arranged on itself, and the third section is folded over the first section. The longitudinal edges of the folded flexible sheet are sealed continuously by heat sealing, and the transverse edge is sealed continuously by adhesive seal.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 8, 2017Publication date: May 24, 2018Inventors: Jaime Alberto Castaño Agudelo, Jerson Alexis Monsalve Villa, Juan Sebastián Sánchez Valdés
