Abstract: A system is used with a pneumatic tire mounted on a wheel rim to keep a tire cavity of the pneumatic tire from becoming underinflated from a set pressure. The first system includes a plurality of pumps attached circumferentially to the wheel rim, each pump having a piston for inflating the tire cavity and a weight for moving the piston, and a stop mechanism for each pump, the stop mechanism including a stop piston, a stop cylinder, a first spring, and a second spring, when air pressure in the tire cavity reaches the set pressure, the set pressure overcomes a force of the first spring against the stop piston and moves the stop piston into a stopping engagement with the weight, when air pressure in the tire cavity is below the set pressure, the second spring overcomes the force of the first spring and moves the stop piston away from the weight.

Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring tire state or condition use a RFID low power tags embedded in a vehicle tire in conjunction with an RFID reader to determine whether the tire needs alignment, e.g., is misaligned, and whether the tire is over or under inflated. Both objectives may be accomplished by detecting the location of a tag in each tire, the tag spanning substantially the width of the tire. One or more additional tags may be located along the circumference of the tire as well to aid in determining inflation.

Abstract: A pneumatic tire includes a tread rubber region 5 a belt region 6 including a belt 61 and a contact patch pressure reducing rubber region 7, wherein tread rubber region 5 includes base rubber layer 51 and cap rubber layer 52. The two ends of the tread surface at shoulder lug 55 have first end 551 and a second end (not shown) which is located toward an interior in a tire width direction from first end 551. A contact patch pressure reducing rubber region 7 is disposed at a location between belt 61 and base nibber layer 51. The modulus of contact patch pressure reducing rubber region 7 is lower than the modulus of base rubber layer 51 and is lower than the modulus of cap rubber layer 52.

Abstract: Systems and methods for stimulation of neurological tissue and generation stimulation trains with temporal patterns of stimulation, in which the interval between electrical pulses (the inter-pulse intervals) changes or varies over time. The features of the stimulation trains may be selected and arranged algorithmically to by clinical trial. These stimulation trains are generated to target a specific neurological disorder, by arranging sets of features which reduce symptoms of that neurological disorder into a pattern which is effective at reducing those symptoms while maintaining or reducing power consumption versus regular stimulation signals. Compared to conventional continuous, high rate pulse trains having regular (i.e., constant) inter-pulse intervals, the non-regular (i.e., not constant) pulse patterns or trains that embody features of the invention provide increased efficacy and/or a lower than average frequency.

Abstract: The present invention provides, with reference to Figure, a retractable single front wheel and/or track drive assembly for an amphibian comprising a single front wheel and/or track drive. The retractable single front wheel and/or track drive assembly comprises an actuator, a suspension assembly movable between a protracted position and a retracted position, and a single front wheel and/or track drive. When the suspension assembly is protracted then the suspension assembly supports and/or holds the single front wheel and/or track drive in a ground engaging position for use on land, and the front single wheel is moved forward and upwards on retraction. The present invention also provides a retractable single rear wheel and/or track drive assembly for an amphibian. The present invention further provides an amphibian comprising the retractable single front and/or rear wheel and/or track drive assembly.

The knuckle is connected to the spring support via a knuckle pin and is arranged so as to be mounted rotatably around a longitudinal axis A of the knuckle pin. The transverse control arms are mounted at the upper end and lower end, respectively, of the knuckle pin. The spring support is connected to the knuckle pin so as to be fixed with respect to rotation relative to it so that the knuckle pin connects the spring support, the knuckle and the upper transverse control arm and lower transverse control arm together. The independent wheel suspension has a further safety component which prevents the knuckle pin from rotating in an uncontrolled manner around its longitudinal axis A.
