Abstract: Disclosed herein are expandable introducer sheaths and methods of making and using the same. The sheaths minimize trauma to a patient's vasculature by allowing for temporary expansion of a portion of the sheath to accommodate passage of a delivery system for a cardiovascular device, then return to a non-expanded state after the passage of the device. The sheath includes an elongated annular member having longitudinally extending channels that facilitate the sheath's temporary expansion. The channels are positioned in such a way that, upon expansion, they enable the movement of protruding contact surfaces toward the inner and outer surfaces of the annular member, reducing friction between the surface and the passing device. Some embodiments of the expandable sheath include an elastic outer layer that pushes the protruding contact surfaces back towards their original positions after the passage of the device.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are provided for stimulation of tissues and structures within a body of a patient. In particular, implantable leads are provided which are comprised of a flexible circuit. Typically, the flexible circuit includes an array of conductors bonded to a thin dielectric film. Example dielectric films include polyimide, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) or other biocompatible materials to name a few. Such leads are particularly suitable for stimulation of the spinal anatomy, more particularly suitable for stimulation of specific nerve anatomies, such as the dorsal root (optionally including the dorsal root ganglion).

Abstract: A method and a device for treating at least a part of an individual's skin having a natural first polarization state. The method comprises the steps of applying at least two electrodes on the individual's skin at a distance from each other, and supplying a direct current to said electrodes to form an electrical potential difference between said electrodes on said part of the skin in order to bringing said part of the skin into a second polarization state, which is different from the first. The part of the skin is then suitable subjected to further treatment for example using cosmetics or pharmaceuticals. The invention can be utilized in the field of cosmetics and for therapy, and it can be used e.g. for accelerating skin care processes.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device (100) for radio-frequency (RF) skin treatment comprising an active electrode (1, 31) arranged on an operational side (15) of the device and having a first skin contact surface for electrical contact with a skin of a user during use. The device further comprises a return electrode (2, 32) arranged on the operational side (15) of the device and having a second skin contact surface for electrical contact with the skin of the user during use. The second skin contact surface is at least five times larger than the first skin contact surface. An RF generator (21) is arranged to supply an RF treatment voltage between the active electrode and the return electrode when the active electrode and the return electrode are in electrical contact with the skin, so as to heat the skin below the active electrode.

Abstract: The invention discloses an device for regulating vital energy—Zen Qi (), which relates to the field of biotechnology, which comprises two electrodes and an electronic circuit generating output, where the positive and negative electrode of the output are placed respectively close to or contact with the yin and yang sides of the organism; This device include: the power supply section, the current control section, the data storage and display section, the constant current section, the over-current protection section, the over-voltage protection section and the current detection section. By using real-time current detection and over-current and over-voltage protection, this device ensures the safety of organisms. The functions of the electronic circuit as described above can be achieved by discrete components or by integrated circuit. If it uses integrated circuit, it can greatly save a lot of discrete components, reducing the size of the device and improve its reliability.
