Abstract: An impact protection device includes a support surface, a first plurality of flexible spines and a second plurality of flexible spines. Each of the first and second plurality of spines have a length defined from a base end to a distal end thereof, and each extends in a longitudinal direction upwardly from the support surface at an angle less than 90 degrees such that each an overhang over the support surface. Each of the second plurality of spines extends under the overhang created by a respective neighboring spine of the first plurality of flexible spines, whereby, upon sufficient compression of the first plurality of flexible spines in a downward direction toward the support surface, the first plurality of flexible spines contacts the second plurality of flexible spines and compressive forces and/or shear forces are absorbed thereby.

Abstract: A helmet body includes an outer shell and an energy management liner with an outer shell lower edge extending between the inner surface and the outer surface of the outer shell. At least two shoulder pad recesses are positioned at a lower edge of the outer shell on a respective left and right sides of the helmet. The energy management liner is adjacent to the inner surface of the outer shell and includes at least two shoulder pads formed of a foamed energy management material. Each of the at least two shoulder pads is received into one of the at least two shoulder pad recesses on the respective left or right side of the helmet, each shoulder pad extending from inside of the outer shell to across at least a majority of a width of the lower edge of the outer shell.

Abstract: A support and attachment system for helmet goggles is described. The main purposes of such a system are to provide an easy attaching of goggles to a helmet and to block the sliding movement of goggles over the outside surface of a helmet by a sliding stop. The support and attachment system for helmet goggles comprises two strap connectors each being configured to be attached, on each respective side of the helmet, to the free ends of the goggles' straps and to engage, two attachment supports disposed on the opposite sides of a helmet. One of the strap connectors is adapted to be easily removable while the second is configured to be somewhat difficult to remove. The attachment support connected to the second strap connector comprises a sliding stop to block the sliding movement of the goggles when positioned on the top of the outside surface of the helmet.

Abstract: A unique attachment mechanism to connect a facemask to a helmet is described. This attachment mechanism uses a polymer urethane visco-elastic, or similar, material to absorb impact forces on the facemask to minimize injury for the person using the helmet. In some embodiments, a spring and bearing mechanism is used in conjunction with the polymer urethane visco-elastic material to further absorb forces.

Abstract: A helmet can include a helmet body comprising an energy-absorbing layer and an outer shell disposed over the energy-absorbing layer. An electronic device can be integrated with the helmet body. A first electrical contact can be formed at an exterior of the outer shell and adapted to be in electrical communication with the electronic device. A helmet visor can be coupled to the helmet body with at least one visor arm, the helmet visor comprising controls integrated within the visor. A second electrical contact can be formed at an inner surface of the at least one visor arm and adapted to be in electrical communication with the controls integrated within the visor. The second electrical contact can be adapted to mateably couple with the first electrical contact such that the electronic device and the controls are adapted to be in electrical contact.

In some embodiments, an energy-harvesting article of footwear comprises a compressible bladder, a pneumatic motor fluidically connected to the compressible bladder, and an electric generator operatively coupled to the pneumatic motor. In some embodiments, energy is harvested by compressing a compressible bladder and flowing fluid from the compressible bladder through a pneumatic motor to generate power. Certain embodiments relate to pneumatic motor designs, and/or to methods of flowing fluid input through pneumatic motors.

A plurality of these open cells of the open cellular construction have openings with curved perimeters and no distinct corners. Additional aspects of this invention relate to ground-engaging components that are very lightweight yet very stiff, particularly in the forefoot support area. Two or more sizes of the ground-engaging components may be provided with substantially constant forefoot stiffness (optionally substantially constant over a size run).

The cushioning device has two sheets between which there are cushioning elements, arranged on at least one portion of the sole of the footwear. The device for supporting the sole of the foot has an area of elastic material that allows the body of the footwear to expand or contract.

Abstract: An Traction enhancing solution that increases traction on all types of footwear on both dry surfaces and wet surfaces. Within a solution suitable for application to the surface of any footwear sole in liquid form, by pouring the solution into the bag supplied, and then placing the footwear into the solution for up to 12 hours. During this time, a nano-technology coating is bonded to the footwear sole that increases the traction properties of all footwear-on both dry and wet surfaces. When pressure is applied to the treated footwear—increased traction is achieved on all surfaces. Once applied to the footwear, the coating causes the surface of the footwear sole to repel debris. This imparts continued tackiness over extended use, from 1 month to up to 3 months depending on amount of use and friction the footwear sole experiences.

Abstract: Golf shoes with a shift structure for shifting the center of gravity of a golfer include two shoe soles. Each shoe sole has a first raised portion at a right side thereof. When the golfer wears the golf shoes, the first raised portion facilitates the center of gravity of the golfer to be eccentric in the target direction. When the golfer swings the club, the center of gravity of the golfer is shifted from the right foot to the outside of the left heel of the left foot, and the front of the golfer's body is turned in the target direction to swing his/her hands simultaneously so as to hit the golf ball correctly. The golfer can swing the club with a shift of his/her center of gravity to make the stroke more strong and effortless and reduce the risk of injury.
