Abstract: A fish attractant applicator retains a quantity of fish attractant to allow a fisherman to easily and efficiently apply the fish attractant onto bait. The fish attractant applicator includes a first applicator support plate, a second applicator support plate, a first applicator pad, a second applicator pad, and a support mount. The first applicator support plate and the second applicator support plate support the first applicator pad and the second applicator pad, respectively. The first applicator pad and the second applicator pad are saturated with the fish attractant. The first applicator pad is offset to the second applicator pad to allow the fisherman to insert bait between the first applicator pad and the second applicator pad to impart the fish attractant onto the bait. The support mount, in conjunction with the first applicator support plate, secures the fish attractant applicator to a support on a dock or boat.

Abstract: A portable bird scare device uses airflow to create random movement of a sock. For example, a portable bird scare device can be constructed from a toolbox, marine fan, waterproof switch, deep-cycle battery, fuse, ripstop nylon tube, plumbing pipe and plumbing pipe connectors. A switch can control power between the fan and a battery protected by the fuse. The fan can drive air from within the toolbox through pipe and connectors to the ripstop nylon tube. By controlling the dimensions of the ripstop nylon tube, the ripstop nylon tube can be made to alternatively rise and collapse. By constructing the bird scare device in this manner, it can be made to fit the needs of an airport for a portable, all day, quiet device that can be placed in fields and within confined spaces (such as under bridges, within window wells, etc.) to scare birds due to the movement.

Abstract: A method for controlling xylophages (e.g., termites, Asian Beetle, Emerald Ash borer, Weevils, Deathwatch Caterpillars, cockroaches) by inhibiting methane production of methanogenic Archaea in the digestive tract thereof. The inhibiting of the critical biochemical pathways specific to the methanogenic Archaea is achieved by contacting the xylophage with one or more antimethanogenic reagent (AMR) compounds. The AMRs may include, for example, naturally-occurring statins (which may be found in red yeast rice) or derivatives thereof, linoleic acid or related compounds, essential oils, certain synthetic compounds or combinations thereof. As a result, the effectiveness of the methanogenic Archaea to produce methane is compromised. This subsequently results into the malfunctioning of the xylophages' digestive system and provides a safe, natural, green and sustainable means of controlling the xylophages.

Liquid sugar, in either undiluted or diluted solutions, can be directly or indirectly applied to citrus leaves to treat psyllids at various stages of development. The use of liquid sugar to combat citrus greening can also increase the amount of caloric energy directly available to the citrus tree for photosynthesis, and provide energy to the soil to enhance microbial activity within the soil. Furthermore, the use of liquid sugar to prevent citrus greening is non-harmful to bees and can encourage the return of commercial beekeepers to citrus groves.

These non-foaming oil-in-water microemulsions have excellent long term storage stability, remain very low in viscosity and do not phase or precipitate for many months. Many essential oils found to be useful in this process are non-toxic food additives having pleasant scents, have low flammability yet are volatile enough to evaporate upon cure down of the SQAC, resulting in a higher concentration of SQAC in the cured, antimicrobial film.
