The plurality of plates extend from the first ring toward an aperture, each of the plurality of plates includes a pin. The second ring defines a plurality of slots to receive the pins. Rotation of the second ring causes the plurality of plates to extend toward the longitudinal axis to reduce the diameter of the aperture.

For example, an embodiment of a makeup shield includes a nontransferable material and an attachment mechanism associated with the nontransferable material such that the attachment mechanism is configured to retain the nontransferable material substantially between a face of a user and one or more objects such as, for example, clothing the user is donning or doffing. The makeup shield may include a visor made of a second nontransferable material that is more sheer than the nontransferable material. Alternatively, the makeup shield includes a viewing flap and viewing window where the viewing flap is selectively opened to reveal the viewing window. An embodiment of a makeup shield may include a skirt of nontransferable material that is detachably associated with a face portion of nontransferable material.

Abstract: An arm band case for portable electronic device is disclosed. The arm band case may be secured to the user with straps and includes a pocket having a transparent window that provides visibility to the touchscreen of the electronic device and a plurality of powered light sources that are configured to illuminate the arm band and thereby provide added visibility to the user when in use. The arm band case is formed of multiple layers that encapsulate the light sources while allowing access to the battery housed therein and while facilitating the transmission and dispersion of light to illuminate the arm band.

Abstract: A climate controlled seat, bed or other assembly configured to receive a person includes a blower and two or more thermoelectric devices or other conditioning fluid modules. According to one embodiment of an operational scheme, a control system for the seat or bed is configured to continuously discharge air from the blower through the thermoelectric devices. In one arrangement, the thermoelectric devices are sequenced between an activated and a deactivated position. Consequently, the desired cooling and/or cooling effect can be maintained while reducing energy consumption of the climate control system.

The backrest section includes first and second portions coupled for movement between a folded configuration and an extended configuration. The modular sofa is assembled by aligning connectors of the seating modules and armrest module, with each respective connectors slidingly engaged along an axis. After bringing the modules together, these connections are secured with the side edge surfaces in abutting engagement. The modular sofa further may include a power cradle mounted at the sofa's bottom surface. The power cradle includes a cubic power outlet near the front of the sofa, and power cable extending beyond the back of the sofa.

Abstract: A person support system is disclosed that includes cooling features to provide focal cooling to a subject supported by the person support system. Embodiments of the person support system include a longitudinal frame having at least one side rail, a deck position on the longitudinal frame, a support pad positioned on the deck, and a cooling source thermally coupled to the deck. The deck is a thermally conductive material. The cooling source draws heat from a portion of the support pad, through the top surface of the deck, and through the deck thereby cooling the portion of the support pad. The cooling source may be positioned in the side rail or directly to a bottom surface of the deck. Cooling systems that are removeably coupleable to person support systems are also disclosed.
