Abstract: A method of stabilizing a catalyst system includes hydrothermally treating an aluminum oxide catalyst support having ?about 95 volume % of ?-Al2O3 phase by heating to a temperature of about 800° C. to about 1,200° C. in the presence of water. A majority of the ?-Al2O3 is converted to a stable alumina phase selected from the group consisting of: ?-Al2O3, ?-Al2O3, and combinations thereof to form a stabilized porous aluminum oxide support having an average surface area of ?about 50 m2/g to ?about 150 m2/g. A platinum group metal is then bound to a surface of the stable porous aluminum oxide support to form the stabilized catalyst systems.

Abstract: Systems and methods for inspecting and cleaning a nozzle of a dispenser are disclosed. The systems may include a platform supporting a cleaning substrate. The cleaning substrate may have a plurality of hook structures configured to remove a material from the nozzle. The systems may also include a camera configured to capture an image of the nozzle and a controller configured to control the system. The methods may include providing a cleaning substrate having a plurality of hook structures, and moving at least one of the nozzle and the cleaning substrate relative to the other to remove a material from the nozzle. The methods may also include capturing an image of the nozzle after dispensing with a camera, processing the image to generate a value, utilizing the value to determine if the nozzle should be cleaned, and if the determination is that the nozzle should be cleaned, cleaning the nozzle.

Abstract: A waterfall system includes a container assembly configured to receive water. A frame assembly is configured to be fixedly mounted to the container assembly. The frame assembly is also configured to accommodate a tube assembly. The tube assembly is configured to extend from the container assembly, along the frame assembly. The tube assembly is also configured to be fluidly connected to a pump assembly. Spaced-apart water-flow guides are configured to extend from a tube portion of the tube assembly toward the water positioned in the container assembly. This is done in such a way that the spaced-apart water-flow guides, in use, respectively guide spaced-apart linear flows of water from the tube portion into the container assembly.

Abstract: A paint roller adapter enabling a large diameter paint roller cover to be used on a paint roller frame having a cage configured to receive smaller paint roller covers. The adapter is generally cylindrical in shape and comprises a cylindrical internal surface having a diameter sized to fit onto the cage of the roller frame and a substantially cylindrical external surface having a diameter sized to fit within the large paint roller cover. At least one gripping member projects outward, beyond the external surface of the adapter such that, in use, the gripping member(s) press against an internal surface of the large paint roller cover. The gripping members of the adapter serve to prevent the roller cover slipping about the external surface of the adapter. A pair of such adapters thereby enables a conventional paint roller frame to be used with large diameter roller covers.

A water hose is connected at one end to a water source and at the other end it is connected to a siphon-sprayer having a polish formulation in its container. The polish formulation includes polish emulsions. The water is turned on and flows from the water source through the water hose and then through the siphon-sprayer. The polish formulation is siphoned up from the siphon-sprayer to form a polish formulation and water mixture that is then sprayed onto the vehicle. After application of the polish formulation and water mixture, no further step of buffing or wiping is required. In one preferred embodiment, the polish emulsion is a cationically charged wax emulsion.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an object. A thermoplastic matrix material is melted to transform it into liquid matrix material. The liquid matrix material is fed into a chamber via one or more matrix inlets. A fibre is also fed into the chamber via a fibre inlet. The fibre in the chamber is contacted by the liquid matrix material. A coated fibre is extruded from an extrusion outlet of the chamber onto a substrate, the coated fibre comprising the fibre with a coating of the liquid matrix material, the substrate comprising a previously extruded coated fibre. The fibre moves in and out of the chamber at the same velocity relative to the chamber. The coating fuses with the previously extruded coated fibre and solidifies after it has fused with the previously extruded coated fibre. Relative movement is generated between the extrusion outlet and the substrate as the coated fibre is extruded from the extrusion outlet.
