Abstract: A movable member is gripped in a delamination-start configuration, and the other-end side of a rib of a delamination member is pressed towards the other-end side of a flexible plate. The flexible plate then warps and deforms about the other end side of the flexible plate, which is supported by a support member, the flexible plate deforming along the direction in which delamination progresses. In concert with the delamination action, a reinforcing plate also warps and deforms along with the flexible plate, the reinforcing plate being vacuum-chucked to an air-permeable electroconductive sheet on the flexible plate, and the reinforcing plate is sequentially delaminated from a substrate 2 along the direction in which delamination progresses.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enhanced dryers for printing systems. One embodiment is an apparatus that includes a dryer for a continuous-forms printing system. The dryer includes heating elements located within an interior of the dryer that radiate infrared energy onto a web of printed media as the web travels through the interior, and an air knife that is interposed between the heating elements. The air knife includes a shell that directly absorbs infrared energy from the heating elements and also defines a passage for air to travel through the air knife onto the web. The shell directly absorbs infrared energy from each heating element that would otherwise overlap on the web with infrared energy from another heating element.

Abstract: Herein is described a method involving a drop detector. The method may comprise: ejecting ink drops from the nozzles on a printhead toward a drop detector. A drop characteristic may then be determined from the drop detector for each ink-jet nozzle. Drop characteristics for the nozzles across the printhead may be collated into a data set, and compared with a predetermined data set for a printhead having predetermined print behaviour to determine if and how the data sets differ in terms of the pattern of drop characteristics across the printheads. If the data sets differ, a recovery strategy may be selected based how the data sets differ in terms of the pattern of drop characteristics across the printheads. A system and computer readable medium are also described herein.

Abstract: Disclosed are a printer and a control method thereof. The control method of the printer includes: a first positioning mark and a first printing content are printed on printing paper when printing is executed using a ribbon of a reference color; and a starting position of the first page is transmitted to a printing position of a printing head according to the first positioning mark and a printing position deviation compensation value to print the printing content of the first page in an ith printing content when printing is executed using a ribbon of an ith color. The method solves a problem of inaccurate positioning in a printer when one page on printing paper is positioned repeatedly.

Abstract: Examples of a method for detecting misalignment cause a printer to print a calibration pattern on a recording medium sheet. The calibration pattern includes graduated measurement scales positioned so that: when the calibration pattern is printed without misalignment on a recording medium sheet of predetermined dimensions, matching graduations of plural measurement scales in the calibration pattern are printed at respective reference locations on the recording medium sheet that correspond to corners of the recording medium sheet (or to spaced positions along a line where folding of the recording medium sheet by a folding apparatus is intended to take place). When the calibration pattern is printed with misalignment on a recording medium sheet of predetermined dimensions, non-matching graduations of the plural measurement scales are printed at the reference locations on the recording medium sheet.

The imaging section is configured to capture an image of a test medium on which a test pattern has been printed. The color measurement section is configured to execute color measurement on the test medium. The discharge amount upper limit determining section is configured to determine an upper limit of an amount of ink to be discharged based on at least one of a color saturation suppression upper limit calculated based on color measurement information of the test medium obtained by the color measurement section and at least one of an overflowing suppression upper limit, a bleeding suppression upper limit, and an aggregation suppression upper limit calculated based on imaging information of the test medium obtained by the imaging section.

Abstract: A thermal printer according to an embodiment includes a communication interface that receives print data from an external device. A thermal print head thermally prints on a sheet, line by line according to the received print data. A motor drives a roller to transport the sheet, line by line according to the received print data. A processor determines, for a current print line, a target transport speed for transporting the sheet, and retrieves one or more intermediate speeds that are defined in advance and are between a current transport speed of transporting the sheet and the target transport speed. The processor controls the motor to transport the sheet at each determined intermediate speed and the target transport speed, sequentially. The thermal print head is heated in accordance with predetermined heating control information corresponding to the determined intermediate speed closest to the current speed.
