  • Patent number: 10045893
Abstract: A patient transport apparatus transports a patient over a surface. The patient transport apparatus comprises a base and support wheels coupled to the base. An auxiliary wheel assembly is coupled to the base to influence motion of the patient transport apparatus over the surface to assist caregivers. The auxiliary wheel assembly comprises auxiliary wheels and an actuator operably coupled to the auxiliary wheels. A controller adjusts the actuator based on input from a sensing system so that frictional forces acting between the auxiliary wheels and the surface are sufficient for steering and maneuvering of the patient transport apparatus, without sacrificing stability of the patient transport apparatus.

  • Patent number: 10045903
Abstract: In one example, we describe a method and system for infant's development, which is a disc system, with various combinations and extensions. The brain is the only organ that constantly reorganizes itself based on experiences or lack thereof. Babies are born with millions of neurons. Through a process called “pruning”, certain ‘circuits’ are fine-tuned through repeated practice and stimulation. This occurs from birth, throughout early childhood. The purpose of the SensiMo Disc is to provide an infant, e.g., typically, up to the 25 lbs. and/or 29 inches long, sensorimotor stimulation, while lying in a prone or supine position, with minimal active movement of the head or extremities. As the child lays supine or proneon, on the SensiMo disc, the child's tactile, vestibular, and proprioceptive systems are stimulated. This helps develop the child's sensorimotor system. Many other variations and combinations, plus advantages, are discussed.

  • Patent number: 10045936
Abstract: A method is provided which enables a drug to be concentrated at needle-like protruding portions and which further allows transdermal-absorption sheets to be manufactured at high production efficiency. The method repeats a step of feeding a drug-containing solution from a liquid feeding apparatus to a mold and filling needle-like recessed portions with the drug-containing solution through a nozzle aligned over the needle-like recessed portions in a state where the nozzle and a front surface of the mold are brought into contact with each other, and a step of moving the liquid feeding apparatus relative to the mold in a state where the nozzle and the front surface of the mold are brought into contact with each other. Thus, the two-dimensionally arranged needle-like recessed portions are filled with the drug-containing solution.

  • Patent number: 10045937
Abstract: A therapeutic agent delivery system includes a therapeutic agent delivery platform and a therapeutic guest agent. The therapeutic agent delivery platform is capable of being implanted in a tissue being treated. The platform includes a substrate and at least one host molecule coupled to the substrate. The therapeutic guest agent is capable of reversibly coupling with the host molecule when administered to the tissue being treated. The reversible coupling is defined by the binding affinity between the host molecule and the therapeutic guest agent. The therapeutic guest agent is delivered at a rate determined by the affinity release rate between the host molecule and the therapeutic guest agent. The degradation rate of the therapeutic guest agent may be slower than the affinity release rate between the host molecule and the therapeutic guest agent.
