Patent number: 10071446Abstract: An apparatus and method are presented for repairing damage to the boundary wall between an engine coolant passage and a fuel injector bore in a cylinder head. The method involves removing the fuel injector from the fuel injector bore adjoining the damaged boundary wall and inserting a purpose-built sealant injector tool into the fuel injector bore. The sealant injector tool is dimensionally equivalent to the fuel injector in critical regions so that it conforms to the interior surface of the fuel injector bore. Sealant is injected into the sealant injector tool at high pressure until the sealant flows into the crack between the fuel injector bore and the coolant passage after which the sealant injector tool is removed and the fuel injector reinstalled.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2016Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Inventors: Kennieth Neal, Eugene Neal

Patent number: 10071490Abstract: Electric shaver includes body, head having blade block, and head supporting part connecting body with head. Head supporting part includes swing supporting part supporting head swingably about two swing axes, and head float part so that head is movable up and down with respect to body. This configuration allows head to swing about the two axes, and thus head easily follows undulations of skin. Head is movable up and down with respect to body, and thus head sinks with respect to body when head is strongly pressed against the skin. The aspect provides electric shaver that has a high follow-up performance of head swinging according to undulations of skin and hardly irritates the skin strongly.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2015Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Assignee: Panasonic Intellectual Property Management Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hiroaki Shimizu, Yasuhide Matsuoka, Toshio Ikuta

Patent number: 10071491Abstract: A cutter head for an electric hair trimmer generally includes a cutting assembly having a stationary blade, a movable blade, and a follower connected to the movable blade. The electric hair trimmer has a handle with a drive system and an ejection mechanism. The follower is configured for operative connection with the drive system of the handle for oscillating the movable blade relative to the stationary blade. The cutter head also includes a housing having a tongue configured to provide clearance for the follower when the cutter head is ejected from the handle via the ejection mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2016Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Assignee: Spectrum Brands, Inc.Inventors: Carl Gottfried Kammer, Andrew David Johnson

Patent number: 10071492Abstract: A cutting apparatus includes a cut mechanism configured to cut a workpiece; and a control device configured to: judge whether or not each of plural patterns to be cut by the cut mechanism is a test pattern used for evaluating a cut quality of the workpiece cut by the cut mechanism; determine a cut sequence, the cut sequence indicating a sequence in which the plural patterns are cut from the workpiece by the cut mechanism, the cut sequence being determined so that a pattern judged as the test pattern is cut before a normal pattern judged to not be the test pattern; and control the cut mechanism to cut the plural patterns from the workpiece according to the cut sequence.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2015Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Assignee: BROTHER KOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventor: Daisuke Abe

Patent number: 10071493Abstract: A triggering system includes a source lead, a ground lead, primary and secondary actuation circuits, and a serializing switch. Both the primary and second actuation circuits are connected to the source lead and the serializing switch has first and second positions. In a first position, the serializing switch connects the primary and secondary actuation circuit in parallel for actuating primary and secondary cartridge activated devices. In a second position, the serializing switch connects the secondary actuation circuit in series with the primary actuation circuit for verifying that the actuation circuits can reliably actuate both cartridge activated devices.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 2016Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Assignee: SIKORSKY AIRCRAFT CORPORATIONInventors: Stephen B. Patent number: 10071494Abstract: A sheet processing apparatus includes a punch mechanism disposed along a media path at a punch point at which a hole is to be punched through a punch location on a media sheet advancing along the media path. The punch mechanism includes a rotatable punch arm having a punch head, and a punch motor for rotating the punch arm. As the punch location on the advancing media sheet approaches the punch point, speed of the punch motor is controlled to adjust a rotational speed of the punch arm based on feedback signals associated with each of the punch motor and a media path motor used to advance the media sheet such that the punch head arrives at the punch point at substantially the same time as when the punch location on the media sheet arrives at the punch point.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2017Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Assignee: Lexmark International, Inc.Inventors: Roel Firmeza Pantonial, Brian Anthony Reichert, Andrew Keith Walker

Patent number: 10071497Abstract: Lengths of an optical fiber may be broken apart from one another while a cross-sectional region of the optical fiber is in a state of multi-axial compressive stress, and the multi-axial compressive stress extends across the optical fiber. The breaking can include propagating a crack across the optical fiber. The crack can be positioned in sufficiently close proximity to the cross-sectional region so that the multi-axial compressive stress restricts the crack from penetrating the cross-sectional region. At least a portion of the optical fiber may be in tension during the breaking.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2017Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Assignee: Corning Optical Communications LLCInventor: Steven Joseph Gregorski
