Abstract: Conventional dishes and plates do not induce adhesion of non-adherent eukaryotic cells and microorganisms. When animal/human cells are cultured in a Petri dish the adherent cells attach to the bottom of the dish, whereas the non-adherent cells float in the growing medium. Less than 50% of the microorganisms are culturable using conventional techniques. Currently there are no specialized dishes for culturing non-adherent cells or microorganisms. A method to induce adhesion of non-adherent eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells involves use of engravings on plastic or metal surfaces (Biosimulator). The engravings also induce proliferation of microorganisms. The non-adherent cells and microorganisms show polarity when cultured in the engraved plate. Abstract: A system for adjusting a depth of a material bed in a pulverizer mill is provided. The system includes a rotatable bowl, an extension ring, and an extension mechanism. The rotatable bowl has a surface operative to support the material bed while the bowl rotates such that particles of the material bed are pulverized against the surface by one or more grinding rollers of the pulverizer mill. The extension ring is disposed about a circumference of the rotatable bowl extending away from the surface and defines a depth of the material bed. The extension mechanism adjusts at least one of the extension ring and the rotatable bowl while the rotatable bowl rotates. Adjusting at least one of the extension ring and the rotatable bowl via the extension mechanism moves the extension ring in relation to the surface so as to adjust the depth of the material bed.

Abstract: An apparatus for washing and grading sand and aggregate includes an aggregate grading and washing screen with a plurality of vertically stacked decks for producing a plurality of aggregate products therefrom, and at least one sump for collecting undersize material comprising sand and water from the plurality of decks. A plurality of sand washing and grading units each include a first hydrocyclone, a vibratory screen having a deck, and a sump beneath the deck for receiving undersize material and water passing through the deck. The deck of the vibratory screen receives an underflow from the first hydrocyclone. A further hydrocyclone receives undersize material and water from the vibratory screen's sump. Underflow from the further hydrocyclone is delivered onto the deck of the vibratory screen. The first hydrocyclone of each sand washing and grading unit receives undersize material and water from the sump of the aggregate washing and grading screen.
