Publication number: 20180274355Abstract: Described is a system for estimating measured depth of a borehole. The system comprises a drilling fluid pulse telemetry system positioned in a borehole and processors connected with the drilling fluid pulse telemetry system. Time series measures are obtained from an environmental sensor package. Initial estimates of a time delay and path attenuation amplitude are determined. An error for the initial estimates is determined, and iterative minimization of the error is performed until source signal parameters converge, resulting in a least squares estimate of the source signal and the reflected signals. The least squares estimate is used to obtain time delay values, which are then used to continuously generate an estimate of a measured depth of the borehole.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2018Publication date: September 27, 2018Inventors: Keerti S. Publication number: 20180274397Abstract: A method, control system, and variable valve timing system are provided for controlling an actuator that can be switched into an on state and an off state with pulse width modulation. The systems and method include controls configured to determine an actual system parameter on a first time schedule and a desired system parameter on a second time schedule. On a third time schedule, a position error difference between the actual system parameter and the desired system parameter is determined. The third time schedule is configured to begin and to determine the position error difference each time that the actual system parameter is determined and each time that the desired system parameter is determined. A desired duty cycle is determined, and a duty cycle command is sent to a pulse width modulation output unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2017Publication date: September 27, 2018Inventors: Klaus Pochner, Uwe Steinmann, Kea Hyuk Chang, Scott T. Publication number: 20180274398Abstract: A variable valve timing control device includes a valve unit including a spool having a plurality of land portions at an outer circumference of the spool, and being formed with a drain flow path inside the spool. The valve unit allows a second pump port and a lock port to communicate with each other in a case where the spool is set at an unlock position where a lock state of a lock mechanism is released, and the valve unit closes the second pump port with the land portion of the spool and allows the lock port to communicate with the drain flow path in a case where the spool is set at a lock position where the lock mechanism is allowed to be shifted in the lock state.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2018Publication date: September 27, 2018Applicant: AISIN SEIKI KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Yoshiaki YAMAKAWA, Masaki KOBAYASHI, Hiromitsu SHIGYO
