Abstract: A method and apparatus for recycling unused or suspended wells and areas with predetermined suitability for well installation. In one embodiment, existing unused well sites are repurposed for contact in or adjacent a geothermal zone. Drilling extends horizontally in direct contact with the geothermal zone for heat transfer and subsequently terminates at a newly drilled well. The heated working liquid within the sealed annulus is cooled within a sealed top loop at or below the surface and recirculated for further heat transfer. The closed loop is continuous above and below the geothermal formation and can cluster several such arrangements and also consolidate clusters in a drilling field of unused wells. The loop may be incorporated in areas with predetermined suitability (greenfield) for well installation.

Abstract: A continuous flow pumping system which provides a continuous flow of materials out of an outlet while eliminating rough stroke shift and boom bounce. The continuous flow pumping system generally includes a container for storing a material to be dispensed such as concrete. Cylinders are fluidly connected to the container such that the materials may be alternatively pulled into the cylinders or pushed out of the cylinders. A diverter valve is connected to the container adjacent the cylinders which includes a valve inlet through which the materials may be pushed to be dispensed and a pair of blocking portions which selectively cover the cylinders and also serve to cut through the materials. By rotating the diverter valve through a plurality of positions while independently controlling the intake and exhaust strokes of the cylinders, a continuous flow of materials may be ensured across all intake/exhaust strokes of the cylinders.

Abstract: A fluidics module rotatable about a rotational center includes first and second chambers and a compression chamber. First and second fluid channels are provided between the first and second chambers and the compression chamber, respectively. The flow resistance of the second fluid channel is smaller, for a flow of liquid from the compression chamber to the second chamber, than a flow resistance of the first fluid channel for a flow of liquid from the compression chamber to the first chamber. Upon rotation at a high rotational frequency, liquid is initially introduced from the first chamber into the compression chamber via the first fluid channel, so that a compressible medium is compressed within the compression chamber. Subsequently, the rotational frequency is reduced, so that the compressible medium within the compression chamber will expand and so that, thereby, liquid is driven into the second chamber via the second fluid channel.

Abstract: An improved rotary machine of the invention may include a rotor with an impeller mounted thereon. A side cavity may be formed between an impeller and the housing. The rotary machine may be further equipped with an annular subdividing disk for segmenting a fluid flow in the cavity into a first fluid flow between the disc and the impeller, and a second fluid flow on the other side of the disk between the disc and the housing. The rotary machine of the invention also features a peripheral annular space formed in the periphery of the housing in the cavity at a location adjacent to a peripheral region of the annular subdividing disk. Importantly, this peripheral annular space is void of restrictions to circumferential fluid flow therein so as to alter the second fluid flow in the cavity in order to reduce pressure variations and flow disturbances along the circumference of the rotary machine. This in turn improves rotational balance of the rotary machine.
