Abstract: The invention relates to the field of producing protective gear and can be used by a wide range of specialists performing various outdoor tasks in the summer season, particularly cutting grass. It is also suitable for ordinary individuals suffering from allergic reactions to poplar or dandelion down. The technical result of the invention is that of overcoming the visual hindrance caused by a mesh in the prototype. It also reduces the discomfort caused by prior art protective gear by reducing the weight of the gear, and rendering it more compact and easy to use. Furthermore, the present protective gear protects the ears and neck and is suitable as a means for fully protecting all parts of the head and neck of the user, and can also be used as protective gear for ordinary individuals suffering from allergic reactions to poplar or dandelion down by preventing down from entering the nose and mouth.

Abstract: An isogenic murine animal model for liver disease resulting from a Western (high fat, high sugar) diet is provided. This phenotypically and genotypically stable model sequentially develops steatosis (4-8 weeks), steatohepatitis (12-16 weeks), progressive fibrosis (16 week onwards) and spontaneous HCC (32-52 weeks), but only when fed a diet high in fat and sugar. The mice also develop obesity, insulin resistance and dyslipidemia, and the mouse hepatic transcriptome is concordant with the human NASH transcriptome at early and late time points, including activation of lipogenic, inflammatory and apoptotic signaling. The mouse HCC gene signature resembles S1 and S2 human HCC subclasses. This simple model of NASH and HCC that mirrors the development of human disease in terms of its triggers, serology, phenotype, histology, transcriptome and outcomes has utility in new target discovery, biomarker discovery, diagnostic test development, and screening and development of drugs for the corresponding liver conditions.

Abstract: The invention is an application method that applies fungicides, pesticides and other biocides to tree wounds by means of a dry process to prevent tree wound diseases and facilitate healing. The invention works with the first step of tree's natural healing process; the drying of the exposed wood surface. The biocides are applied dry or in a liquid formulation that dries quickly thus allowing the wood to dry quickly. The biocides, thus applied, do not interfere with the natural drying process and add additional biocidal protection. The biocides, thus applied, decrease infection and enhance the tree's ability to heal itself.
