  • Patent number: 10121053
Abstract: A touch device and a waking up method thereof are provided. The touch device includes a sensing area and a sensing circuit. The sensing area includes sensing areas, and each sub sensing area includes sensing points. In the waking up method, at first, a sensing operation is performed at a first time point and a second time to obtain two total capacitance values of the sensing area at the first time point and the second time point. The scan operation scans a portion of the sensing points of each the sub sensing area, and a number of the portion of the sensing points is smaller than a number of the sensing points in one sub sensing area. Then, a difference between the two total capacitance values is calculated, and the touch device is waken up when the capacitance difference value is greater than a threshold capacitance value.

  • Patent number: 10121055
Abstract: This invention describes methods and systems for the automated facial landmark localization. Our approach proceeds from sparse to dense landmarking steps using a set of models to best account for the shape and texture variation manifested by facial landmarks across pose and expression. We also describe the use of an l1-regularized least squares approach that we incorporate into our shape model, which is an improvement over the shape model used by several prior Active Shape Model (ASM) based facial landmark localization algorithms.

  • Patent number: 10121066
Abstract: A method of calculating the stress on a joint by determining when a joint angle is outside the normal range of motion for the joint. Applications include analysis of elbow joint stress for baseball pitchers, for example to mitigate the risk of injury to the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL). During a movement such as a baseball pitch, sensor data is collected to track the position, orientation, or motion of body segments; joint angles are derived from this sensor data. Joint angles are then compared to a range of motion, which may be measured for each individual. Joint stress contributions from movements that exceed the range of motion may be combined over time to calculate cumulative joint fatigue. This joint fatigue measure may for example be used for pitchers to quantify recovery periods (days off) and future workloads (such as maximum pitch counts).

Abstract: A verification system (1) receives batches of documents in excess of 500,000 for external document generation systems. It verifies each document without affecting the core document-generation operations of the source document generation systems, and moreover enriches the documents by adding content such as recipient messages. It normalizes each document into an instance in a mark-up language, one instance per document. In the normalized format, the system performs verification checks including semantic checking across data items in groups. The servers (10, 11) are configured as multi-threaded platforms that process the document instances in parallel, typically validating the instance documents, pattern matching for relevant facts or events and implementing business rules and output actions such as generation of a print stream. Abstract: An imager device disposed on a moving body captures first image data at a first time and second image data at a second, subsequent time. An inertial measurement unit (IMU) disposed on the moving body senses motion of the moving body between the first time and the second time. The first image data is registered to the second image data based on inertial measurement data corresponding to the sensed motion to produce first registered image data. In response to identifying that image features are common to both the first registered image data and the second image data, the first registered image data is registered to the second image data based on the identified common features to produce output registered image data. In response to determining that no image features are common to both the first registered image data and the second image data, the first registered image data is output.

Abstract: Various aspects of a system and a method for background subtraction in video content are disclosed herein. The system includes an electronic device, which generates an optical flow image of an image frame from a sequence of image frames. A first distribution is determined based on pixel values of a plurality of pixels of the generated optical flow image. A second distribution is determined based on pixel values of a set of pixels of the plurality of pixels of the generated optical flow image. The set of pixels correspond to pixels that touch one or more borders of the image frame. A third distribution is further determined based on the determined first distribution and the determined second distribution. One or more peak values corresponding to one or more background regions in the generated optical flow image, are determined within a specified threshold range in the determined third distribution.

  • Patent number: 10121094
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product is provided. An input signal for classification and a set of pre-classified signals are received, each comprising a vector representation of an object having a plurality of vector elements. A sparse vector comprising a plurality of sparse vector coefficients is determined. Each sparse vector coefficient corresponds to a signal in the set of pre-classified signals and represents the likelihood of a match between the object represented in the input signal and the object represented in the corresponding signal. A largest sparse vector coefficient is compared with a predetermined threshold. If the largest sparse vector coefficient is less than the predetermined threshold, the corresponding signal is removed from the set of pre-classified signals. The determining and comparing are repeated using the input signal and the reduced set of pre-classified signals.
