Publication number: 20180339913Abstract: Cerium oxide nanoparticles (CNPs) have been proven to exhibit antioxidant properties attributed to its surface oxidation states (Ce4+ to Ce3+ and vice versa) mediated at the oxygen vacancies on the surface of CNPs. Different anions in precursor cerium salts were used to prepare CNPs resulting in disclosed CNPs with varying physicochemical properties such as dispersion stability, hydrodynamic size, and the signature surface chemistry. The antioxidant catalytic activity and oxidation potentials of different CNPs have been significantly altered with the change of anions in the precursor salts. For one, CNPs prepared using precursor salts containing NO3? and Cl? ions exhibited increased antioxidant activity than previously thought possible. The change in oxidation potentials of CNPs with the change in concentration of the nitrate and chloride ions indicates the disclosed CNP's have different surface chemistry and antioxidant properties. These compositions and methods of their synthesis are disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 18, 2018Publication date: November 29, 2018Inventors: Sudipta SEAL, Swetha BARKAM, Amitava ADHIKARY

Publication number: 20180339945Abstract: A method for manufacturing a ceramic plate-shaped body that efficiently manufactures a ceramic plate-shaped body having high smoothness without requiring polishing after firing. The method includes preparing an unsintered plate-shaped body, preparing a plurality of resin sheets by a resin slurry containing a spherical resin powder that is composed of a resin material being poorly-soluble in an organic solvent and burning out during firing, producing an unsintered laminate by laminating and press-bonding the unsintered plate-shaped body and the resin sheet, firing the unsintered laminate so that the unsintered plate-shaped body is sintered to form a ceramic plate-shaped body, and the ceramic plate-shaped bodies are bonded to each other with scattered fine bonding portions interposed therebetween to form a ceramic laminate, and breaking the bonding portions in the ceramic laminate so that the ceramic laminate is divided into a plurality of ceramic plate-shaped bodies.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2018Publication date: November 29, 2018Inventor: AKIRA BABA

Publication number: 20180339948Abstract: Disclosed are a microgranular water-soluble fertilizer co-produced from potassium nitrate by tower melt and a method of preparing the same, which relate to the technical field of production of water-soluble fertilizers. The microgranular water-soluble fertilizer co-produced from potassium nitrate by tower melt is prepared from potassium nitrate concentrate, urea, industrial monoammonium phosphate, water-soluble ammonium polyphosphate, potassium sulfate, EDTA-Fe, EDTA-Zn, EDTA-Mn, boric acid and ammonium heptamolybdate. The microgranular water-soluble fertilizer product co-produced from potassium nitrate by tower melt has balanced and stable nutrients. The product is microgranular, has a smooth appearance, is less susceptible to agglomeration, is easy to be absorbed and utilized by crops, and contains a full range of nutrients. In addition, the product is produced by a process employing fully automatic dispensing equipment, which mainly integrates “dispensing, mixing and packaging” and is fully automated.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2017Publication date: November 29, 2018Inventors: Jinhua GAO, Weiguang FENG, Xiangzhao GAO, Huitao BIAN, Qinzheng XU, Wenping LI, Qingcai SHI, Tingting WANG, Ran CUI, Shouxue HE, Ning LI, Duan WANG, Hongxia LIU, Jun ZHANG, Fei ZHANG, Wenqi LEI, Xiangfu CHEN, Wenlong YU
