Abstract: An assembly is disclosed, the assembly for providing release structure to a lanyard or strap adapted to be worn on the body, such as a neck strap. The release structure consists of a snap button assembly configured such that the release pull generated by tension in the strap is directed along an axis perpendicular to the closure and rotation plane of the male and female portion of the snap button assemblies. With structure to configure a release pull in such an axis, a safety feature is provided to the wearer such that tension in the strap, when it reaches a sufficient force to overcome the closure forces of the snap button assembly, will release the closed snap button and allow the strap to fall away from the body. Also, as in the case of a firefighter wearing an SCBA fire mask, it prevents the firefighter from being entangled or tethered if the strap were to get accidentally hooked or caught on something.

Abstract: A fire suppression system in which the water supply line (108) is fitted with repeating arrays of sprinkler heads (102, 106). Each array is substantially identical and is composed of two side-discharge sprinklers (106) and one vertical-discharge sprinkler (102). The side-discharge sprinklers (106) in each array are aimed so that their coverage areas point in opposite directions. The trigger (109) for the vertical-discharge sprinkler (102) has a lower activation temperature (Tv) than the activation temperatures (Th) of the side-discharge sprinklers (106) so that the vertical-discharge sprinkler (102) will activate earlier than either of the side-discharge sprinklers (106). The vertical-discharge sprinkler (102) may include a heat collector (104) to facilitate early activation of its trigger (109). The fire suppression system and method harness the working power of working of multiple orientations of fire sprinklers to produce, in effect, a super fire sprinkler system and method.

The at least one vertical collection device includes a substantially vertical liquid collection surface extending between a top edge and a bottom edge, a trough located along the bottom edge to collect liquid from the substantially vertical collection surface, and a second measuring device to measure an amount of liquid and/or a rate of liquid collected by the trough.

Abstract: There is provided an article of adjustable drag resistance water exercise equipment comprised of a rectangular piece of material (11) with a handle (12A) attached to either end, and an identical handle (12B) looped around the material. By holding the handles (12A-12B) in either one hand or both hands of a user, or one handle (12A or 12B) placed around one foot while the user holds the other handle(-s), it can be moved through water in multiple directions through several movement planes, therefore increasing muscular strength and endurance of upper and lower extremities and core muscles of the user, as well as improving stability and balance. The device can be adjusted for user length and resistance levels using the third handle (12B). The equipment is useful in aquatic therapy or group exercise situations with different populations (elderly, injured, overweight, the elite athletes, recreational fitness partaker, and many more) to increase surface area and drag.

Abstract: An arm exercise apparatus includes gloves and attached resistance bands that tone and firm the triceps area and reduce flabby arms by reducing fat. The disclosed exercise apparatus is comprised of an exercise glove with an arm band and resistance band that attaches to both the arm band and the glove, weighing less than 1 lb. together, along with a neck strap to secure the device. The disclosed apparatus or device can provide varying resistance strengths to work the triceps up to 35 lbs. and, in some embodiments up to 50 lbs., varying according to the resistance band used. The apparatus can be used in any location (e.g., while walking in a neighborhood, in the bathroom, kitchen, break room). The apparatus is compact and portable.

Abstract: There is described an apparatus for installation on a hand having a thumb and opposable fingers, both having joints and phalanges. The apparatus comprises biasing devices. Each one of the biasing devices substantially has an inversed V shape formed by a hinge, a distal end and a proximal end. The biasing devices are connected together to form the apparatus. The hinges of the biasing devices are spatially distributed so that each hinge covers a corresponding one of the joints and biases the distal end and proximal end toward each other. The modified dimples can be altered, for example, by changing dimple coverage, dimple diameter, dimple depth, dimple edge angle, dimple volume, dimple cross-sectional shape, and/or dimple plan shape. Optionally, the dimples have a catenary cross-sectional shape and the modified dimples are altered by changing the shape factor and/or chord depth. Such modifications preferably produce a golf ball that flies more consistently regardless of orientation when struck than a corresponding golf ball without such modifications.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for arranging dimples on a golf ball surface in which the dimples are arranged in a pattern derived from at least one irregular domain generated from a regular or non-regular polyhedron. The method includes choosing control points of a polyhedron, generating an irregular domain based on those control points, packing the irregular domain with dimples, and tessellating the irregular domain to cover the surface of the golf ball. The control points include the center of a polyhedral face, a vertex of the polyhedron, a midpoint or other point on an edge of the polyhedron and others. The method ensures that the symmetry of the underlying polyhedron is preserved while minimizing or eliminating great circles due to parting lines.

Abstract: Multi-piece golf balls containing a dual-layered core structure are provided. The core structure includes a small, heavy inner core (center) having a relatively high specific gravity, and a surrounding outer core layer. The layers of the core structure may have different hardness gradients. The center of the core comprises a metal material such as copper, steel, brass, tungsten, titanium, aluminum, and alloys thereof preferably dispersed in a plasticized thermoplastic polymeric matrix. Different plasticizer such as fatty acid esters may be used. The outer core layer also is preferably formed from a thermoplastic composition such as an ethylene acid copolymer ionomer resin. The resulting ball has high resiliency and good spin.
