The technical result of CTS optimization consists in determining the optimal values of CTS parameters in real time mode on the basis of the current values of CTS functioning parameters and prediction of the values of CTS functioning parameters through a time interval. The result is achieved by supplementing CTS data array by using a mathematical model, including the thermodynamic process description. On the basis of the obtained data array, a mathematical model is formed, based on a statistical modeling or machine learning, which allows to determine the necessary parameters of CTS in real time mode and the values of CTS parameters through a time interval. Abstract: A dual piston centrifuge tube includes an elongate tubular receptacle having upper and lower ends interconnected by a sidewall. First and second common inlet/outlet ports are formed respectively in the upper and lower ends of the tubular receptacle. First and second liquid impermeable pistons are mounted within an interior chamber of the tubular receptacle for sliding longitudinally therein. The first piston is interconnected to the first port by a flexible fluid-conducting pipe that extends through the first piston to communicate with a region of the chamber between the first and second pistons. Blood or other biological fluid is introduced through the first port and pipe into the tubular receptacle to drive the first piston upwardly. The tube is centrifuged to separate the fluid into a plurality of constituent component levels between the first and second pistons. One of the layers is aspirated through the pipe and first port and re-introduced into the receptacle through the second port.

Abstract: A pipetting reservoir kit includes a base, a disposable liner, and a lid. The disposable liner includes anti-vacuum channels on the bottom wall to prevent a pipette tip vacuum engaging the wall during aspiration. The groupings of anti-vacuum channels located on the bottom surface of the liner face upward into the basin that holds liquid samples or reagents. The groupings of anti-vacuum channels are spaced in an array 4.5 mm apart for a 384 pipetting head and 9 mm apart for a 96 pipetting head. The anti-vacuum channels also lower the required working volume for the liner and reduce liquid waste.

Abstract: An interfacial technique utilizes hydrodynamic micro-vortices to perform (i) high efficiency single cell encapsulation and (ii) size-selective capturing of cells based on their sizes in a single microfluidic device. A notable feature of this technique is that it can perform high efficiency single cell encapsulation at low cell concentrations, and this technique is all passive, controlled only by the flow rates of the two phases and does not require complex structures or on-chip active devices. Single bead/cell encapsulation was demonstrated at 50% efficiency, which is at least 10 times greater than the random encapsulations at the introduced cell concentrations. Also demonstrated is the selective trapping of cells based on their sizes. This present technique expands the capabilities of droplet microfluidics for applications ranging from single cell genomics, proteomic assays to sample preparation.
