Abstract: An optical stimulation system includes a control module coupleable to a lead having a light emitter and a sensing electrode. The light emitter emits light having one or more wavelengths that activate light-sensitive neurons within a target stimulation location. The light-sensitive neurons generate either an excitatory response or an inhibitory response when activated depending on the wavelength of the emitted light. The sensing electrode senses electrical activity from the activated light-sensitive neurons concurrently with emission of the light from the light emitter. The control module directs emission of light from the light emitter using stimulation parameters. The control module includes a closed-loop feedback subsystem for adjusting at least one of the stimulation parameters based, at least in part, on electrical activity of the activated light-sensitive neurons sensed by the sensing electrode.

Abstract: Various types of medical devices incorporating a light therapy system are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the medical device provides an ultrasonic driver and a light therapy driver. The ultrasonic driver provides an ultrasonic vibration signal output port and is configured to discharge an ultrasonic frequency vibration signal therefrom. The light therapy driver provides a laser light output port and is configured to discharge laser light therefrom. A handpiece housing of the medical device provides an input assembly connected to each of the ultrasonic vibration signal output port and laser light output port. The input assembly provides an ultrasonic tip assembly configured to output each of the vibration signal and laser light at an operational end of the tip assembly. Thus, the vibration signal and laser light are capable of being simultaneously or alternatingly delivered via the tip assembly.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for adapting and/or updating radiotherapy treatment plans based on biological and/or physiological data and/or anatomical data extracted or calculated from imaging data acquired in real-time (e.g., during a treatment session). Functional imaging data acquired at the time of radiation treatment is used to modify a treatment plan and/or dose delivery instructions to provide a prescribed dose distribution to patient target regions. Also disclosed herein are methods for evaluating treatment plans based on imaging data acquired in real-time.

A scanning section having two separate or one combined fast deflection magnets that deflect the beam at the iso-center in a direction perpendicular to the beam direction to perform lateral scanning is provided. A beam nozzle section is provided and has a beam nozzle.

Abstract: An inflatable ball includes an inner bladder, an inflation valve, and a seamless outer foam layer. The inner bladder is formed with an air inflatable space. The inflation valve is disposed in the inner bladder for introducing gas into the air inflatable space. The seamless outer foam layer is molded over and encloses the inner bladder, and has a through hole in fluid communication with the inflation valve.

Abstract: This document provides a computer-implemented method that includes placing an athletic ball containing a battery on an inductive charging device; generating an electric or magnetic field, or both with the inductive charging device; receiving energy from the field or fields via a receptor located inside the athletic ball; and charging a battery inside the athletic ball using the received energy. This document also provides devices and methods for detecting events with an instrumented player-controllable game device, such as an event of a basketball or soccer ball passing through a goal.
