Abstract: An adjustable drying device comprises four brackets that attach and mount to a vent register and hang vertically from the vent register, allowing a support tube to be inserted at the bottom of the brackets and at varying positions from the vent register and horizontal to the vent register. The support tube allows clothes hangers to hang from it, allowing for clothing and other articles to be naturally air-dried from the air emitted from the vent register and/or natural air flow from surrounding ambient air. In addition, clothing and other articles can be hung or dried over the support tube without the use of clothes hangers, and other items can hang from or be attached to the support tube freely.

Abstract: A system and method for tracking, treating, and laundering stains on a fabric item is disclosed. The system and method uses a stain tracking app to store and transmit data about the stain to a piece of laundry equipment. The system and method optionally uses an RFID tag to mark the stain or stains on a fabric item and uses a transponder or smartphone to locate the RFID tag and the stained fabric item. The user is then able to precisely locate both the stained fabric item and the precise location of the stain or stains on the fabric item for an optional chemical pretreatment prior to laundering. The stain tracking application transmits information about the stain to the piece of laundry equipment which can then be used to determine optimal pre-treatment and cleaning parameters to optimize removal of the stain or stains.

Abstract: A method of modifying a surface of a polymeric nanofiber, for example, a polymeric nanofiber mat, is provided. For surface modification of the polymeric nanofiber by plasma treatment, a method capable of forming a surface of the polymeric nanofiber on nano-scaled patterns using a remarkably simple method in which the polymeric nanofiber is subjected to plasma treatment in a state in which an AAO template is placed on the polymeric nanofiber is provided. Ultimately, the invention for obtaining a biomaterial for tissue regeneration applications by providing micro-environmental conditions, which are more desirable to initial attachment and growth of cells, to a surface of the polymeric nanofiber is disclosed.

Abstract: A reinforced composite panel and method of making the composite panel uses processed natural fibers such as bamboo along with a polymeric material. The method includes the steps of: treating a plant source comprising natural fibers with a solvent and processing the treated plant source. The processing step can include arranging the natural fibers into a sheet-like orientation in a variety of ways. A polymeric material is then applied to the natural fibers to form a composite sheet, and the composite panel can be formed from one or more composite sheets.

Abstract: Detectable warning areas (DWAs) and methods of forming the same are provided. A mat template having one or more holes can be placed over a substrate, and a dome-forming material can be filled in the mat template by pouring the dome-forming material over the mat template and working the dome-forming material into the one or more holes of the mat template. The mat template can remain in place until the dome-forming material is completely cured, and then the mat template can be removed. DWAs formed according to this method display improved properties, including increased bond strength.

Abstract: A marker light is a device that provides referential pivoting and precision boundary marking required for parking or docking articulate vehicles during poor visibility conditions. The marker consists of 12 primary features, an upper shell housing, a sealed circular window for white light passage, a sealed slotted window for laser light passage, internal reinforcement, a white up light, a laser beam transform lens, a laser beam source, a rechargeable battery pack, a recharging port, a wiring harness, a lower base plate, and an on/off switch. The up light pinpoints substantially the optimum pivot location during the parking or docking process. The developed laser plane—resulting from the laser beam passing through the transform lens—enables two marking orientations for the driver from one continuous laser impingement curve. The device is installed at a control point in an impoundment area, such as a settling pond. The housing is selectively rotated to raise and lower the height of the weir edge to a target gate height. Automatic control is provided for operation of the device by a controller communicating with an actuator. A system of the invention includes one or more water control devices and the controller. A method of the invention includes controlling flow of water from an impounded water source by use of the automated water control device. Manual or semi-automated embodiments are also disclosed.

The fluid director can be formed so that it is in fluid communication with at least part of a fluid layer within the cartridge. The non-linear surface imparts a horizontal velocity component, thereby reducing disruption of the fluid layer by fluid flowing through the throat portion of the cartridge. The fluid director may be positioned within the cartridge to impart a substantially horizontal swirling motion to fluid within the cartridge. A fluid deflector proximate the fluid director can receive fluid from the fluid deflector and for re-directing the fluid from the fluid director.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an assembly for providing a drain in a floor. The drain assembly includes a drain conduit, a strainer and an adaptor. The drain conduit has an inner, surface that defines a fluid flow path, and an outer surface. The strainer is disposed above the drain conduit and has openings in fluid communication with the fluid flow path of the drain conduit. The adaptor may be securable in the drain conduit and may be connected to the strainer. Prior to securing the adaptor in the drain conduit, a position of the adaptor in the drain conduit may be moveable to allow a top surface of the strainer to be substantially aligned with the floor. A method of assembly is also disclosed.

Abstract: In an LNG tank, a dike is formed by arranging precast blocks in the circumferential direction and layering the precast blocks in the vertical direction. Each of the precast blocks has loop joints on the top, bottom, left, and right side faces, and concrete is deposited between each two precast blocks adjacent in the circumferential direction and the vertical direction, whereby masonry joints are formed in the vertical direction and the circumferential direction. Prestress is imparted to the dike by PC steel members. The PC steel members are provided in the circumferential direction and the vertical direction of the dike, and are arranged so as to avoid the masonry joints in the circumferential direction and the vertical direction. Therefore, it is possible to construct the dike in a short time, and it is possible to provide a tank or the like that can reduce the construction period.

The fire-retardant material can be attached to compressible backer rods inserted within deflection gaps in the wall systems such that the fire-retardant material expands and seals gaps and/or areas between the tracks and wall components such as ceilings, floors, and drywall. Various assemblies and methods can be used to cover the deflection gap.

Abstract: A rain gutter cleaning tool has a scraper portion and a hook portion connected on opposite sides of a main body portion, as well as a tool attachment portion. The scraper portion is used to maneuver debris within a rain gutter to within the user's reach, while the hook portion is used to maneuver debris underneath gutter hangers which provide obstacles to the use of the scraper portion. The tool attachment portion is internally threaded to accommodate an extension pole. Thus, the user is able to easily and effectively clear a significant portion of a rain gutter without having to climb down from a ladder and move the ladder to a new spot in order to bring more debris within their reach for cleaning.
