Abstract: A toy that has a pair of wheel-like members mounted on a central axle. The central axle is a ferrous metal rod with a pair of small permanent or other magnets attached to each end of the rod. The two magnets are positioned so that like poles face each other in opposition and face the center of the rod. A non-ferrous support plate such as a flat piece of wood with a metal strip on its edges forms a track. The magnets associated with the axle causes the toy to achieve the effect of clinging to the metal strip portions of the track. When the device is placed on the track, it will roll along the track under the force of gravity while magnetically clinging to the track in any horizontal or vertical position of the track.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for controlling aerosol production during absorption in ammonia desulfurization, by removing sulfur dioxide in flue gas with an absorption circulation liquid containing ammonium sulfite, so as to control the aerosol production during absorption in ammonia desulfurization. Efficient desulfurization and dust removal may be achieved by staged solution composition control and reaction condition control. At the same time ammonia escape and aerosol production during absorption may be controlled. The flue gas may be subjected to preliminary temperature lowering and purification, and may be allowed to contact with an absorption circulation liquid and a fine particle washing circulation liquid sequentially. Levels of solution compositions and reaction temperatures may be controlled.

The process can include contacting carbon dioxide from industrial emissions with water and magnesium-containing particulate material, such as serpentinite, which is thermally pre-treated and has a particle size of at most 75 microns. The process can also include separation of the loaded aqueous stream from the solids, followed by precipitation of magnesium carbonate material that includes carbon and oxygen from industrial emissions and magnesium from serpentinite or chrysotile mining residue, for example.

Abstract: A thermally integrated catalyst aftertreatment exhaust system includes a flow channel that directs diesel exhaust through a diesel oxidation catalyst unit that includes a diesel oxidation catalyst, by a doser that introduces DEF into the diesel exhaust, through a mixing chamber that includes a static metallic mixer coated with a DEF hydrolysis catalyst, and through an SCR unit that includes an SCR catalyst. The diesel oxidation catalyst converts a portion of diesel exhaust into water, carbon dioxide, or nitrogen dioxide. The DEF hydrolysis catalyst facilitates hydrolysis of the mixed DEF and diesel exhaust. The SCR catalyst facilitates reduction of NOx in the diesel exhaust. A first portion of the flow channel is in direct thermal contact with a second portion of the flow channel that houses the SCR unit such that heat from the diesel exhaust before the diesel exhaust reaches the doser is passed to the SCR unit.
