Abstract: To provide a method for manufacturing a composite member including an aluminum die cast member and a polymer member firmly bonded by removing a carbide film on the surface of the aluminum die cast member to even the surface layer. The method includes: a melting step of melting a surface layer of a joint surface of the aluminum die cast member by irradiating the joint surface with a laser, the joint surface being joined with the polymer member; and a combining step of integrally molding a polymeric material on the joint surface. The method may have a removal step of removing the carbide film present on the joint surface by irradiating the joint surface with the laser before the melting step, and a modification step of irradiating the joint surface with plasma to impart a hydroxyl group to the joint surface after the melting step.

The first bonding region having been put into the semi-cured state is pressed in contact with a second bonding region of the second composite material that becomes a softened state or a semi-cured state. The first bonding region and the second bonding region having been brought into contact with each other and pressed in the contacting and pressing step are heated to be put into a cured state.

Abstract: A method for resistance welding of two fiber-composite components to give a fiber-composite structure includes arranging conductive fibers within a jointing region of the two fiber-composite components, where each conductive fiber includes a carbon fiber with an electrically insulating coating. An electric current is passed through the conductive fibers to heat the jointing region to a welding temperature and melt the fiber-composite components in the jointing region. The jointing region is hardened in a manner that bonds the two fiber-composite components by way of the jointing region to give the fiber-composite structure.

Abstract: A film fin sealing device is disclosed herein which may have a groove defining a base. The base of the groove of the fin sealing device may be oriented at a skewed angle with respect to a longitudinal direction of the conveyor of a heat sealing machine. Edges of a thermoplastic sheet or two stacked layers of thermoplastic sheets are introduced into the groove of the film fin sealing device and placed in contact therewith to both heat and fuse the distal edge portions of the thermoplastic sheet(s) to join the edge portions thereof to form a fin seal.

The first material layer (20) and the second material layer (30) are wound to form a flexible and circular rod. Impact absorption is effectively improved and impact resisting strength is enhanced because energy-absorber or damping material or its composition is attached into the composite material body (10). Technical characteristics, effects and objects of this invention are achieved thereby.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a keyboard or other input structure having a continuous fiber material. In one aspect, the continuous fiber material is disposed in a layered fiber pattern under tension. The continuous fiber material is continuous in that it is not broken or severed within the webbing. Heat and pressure are then applied to form a structural web. The resulting structural web may be stronger than a webbing of conventional materials yet with reduced relative weight.
