  • Patent number: RE47348
Abstract: A posterior spinal fusion system may include a plurality of cannulas that mate with cages polyaxially coupled to pedicle screws. The cannulas maintain access to the pedicle screws to facilitate percutaneous insertion of a fusion rod into engagement with the cages. Each cannula has a pair of blades that may be held together by an abutment member that at least partially encircles the blades. Each abutment member abuts the skin to define a variable subcutaneous length of the corresponding cannula. Each abutment members is also lockably removable from the corresponding blades to enable the blades to pivot with respect to the connecting element to a position in which they can be withdrawn from the connecting element. The blades of each cannula are spaced apart to provide first and second slots of each cannula, through which the fusion rod can be percutaneously inserted.

  • Patent number: RE47353
Abstract: An alarm suspend system utilizes an alarm trigger responsive to physiological parameters and corresponding limits on those parameters. The parameters are associated with both fast and slow treatment times corresponding to length of time it takes for a person to respond to medical treatment for out-of-limit parameter measurements. Audible and visual alarms respond to the alarm trigger. An alarm silence button is pressed to silence the audible alarm for a predetermined suspend time. The audible alarm is activated after the suspend time has lapsed. Longer suspend times are associated with slow treatment parameters and shorter suspend times are associated with fast treatment parameters.

The transmitting section transmits the first reference signal. The propagation estimating section estimates a first propagation estimation value of the propagation environment using a second reference signal transmitted from the communicating party. The first data acquiring section generates first data using the first propagation estimation value. The decoding section decodes a transmission signal encoded using a second propagation estimation value that is estimated by the communicating party using the first reference signal, to obtain second data using the first data.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide improved systems and methods for adjusting system tests based on detected interference. In one embodiment, a system comprises a host unit; a system test controller to control the performance of system tests, wherein a system test to detect the reception of an interfering signal comprises disabling the generation of tones for transmission through the communication system. The system also comprises multiple remote antenna units communicatively coupled to the system test controller to transmit signals to multiple wireless terminals, wherein a remote antenna unit comprises: an antenna; a transceiver, coupled to the antenna; a signal detector that measures reverse and forward power of signals transmitted to and received from the antenna; and a microcontroller to control the antenna unit, wherein upon receiving a command to perform interference testing, the microcontroller adjusts a subsequent test based on measurements of the reverse power by the signal detector.
