Publication number: 20190143129Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed for relaying information from a cardiac pacemaker to an external device. Logic on the pacemaker modulates a heartbeat clock of the pacemaker to encode information onto a blood pressure sequence by adding or subtracting a small subinterval to or from a pulse repetition interval of the pacemaker. A muscle stimulator beats the heart according to the modulated sequence. A monitoring device external to the body monitors the blood pressure to retrieve the encoded information, or message. The encoded information is then decoded to determine the information in the message. This information may concern the pacemaker as well as other devices within the body that communicate with the pacemaker such as blood monitors, etc. Since the message is conveyed via simple modulation of the heart beat intervals, no separate transmitter is required in the pacemaker which would otherwise increase cost and decrease battery life.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 11, 2019Publication date: May 16, 2019Applicant: AT&T Mobility II LLCInventors: Sheldon Kent Meredith, Brandon B. Publication number: 20190143144Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention describe systems and methods for providing radiotherapy treatment by focusing an electron beam on a target (e.g., a tungsten plate) to produce a high-yield x-ray output with improved field shaping. A modified electron beam spatial distribution is employed to scan the target, such as a 2D periodic beam path, which advantageously lowers the x-ray target temperature compared to the typical compact beam spatial distribution. As a result, the x-ray target can produce a high yield output without sacrificing the x-ray target life span. The use of a 2D periodic beam path allows a much colder target functioning regime such that more dosage can be applied in a short period of time compared to existing techniques.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2018Publication date: May 16, 2019Inventors: Anuj PURWAR, Dragos CONSTANTIN, James CLAYTON

Publication number: 20190143146Abstract: A template matching is performed on two fluoroscopic images by using a template image prepared in advance and a position corresponding to a high matching score is listed as a candidate for the position of a marker 29. From two lists of the candidates of the position of the marker 29, the lengths of common vertical lines for all combinations are calculated. Then, the position of the marker 29 is detected based on the matching score and the common vertical line. Then, based on the detected position of the marker 29, an amount of a proton beam to be irradiated to a target is controlled. Therefore, a tracking target can be accurately detected even when the conditions for X-ray fluoroscopy is severe, e.g., a thick object.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 11, 2017Publication date: May 16, 2019Applicants: HITACHI, LTD., NATIONAL UNIVERSITY CORPORATION HOKKAIDO UNIVERSITYInventors: Yusuke FUJII, Naoki MIYAMOTO, Kikuo UMEGAKI, Shinichi SHIMIZU, Toru UMEKAWA, Takahiro YAMADA

Publication number: 20190143168Abstract: A multi-functional exercise device includes an upper part and a lower part. The upper part has a base. The base includes two side walls extending from two sides thereof, a grip member mounted between the two side walls, and an elastic engaging hook beneath the base. The lower part includes a support disc having a central engaging hole for the elastic engaging hook to be engaged therein, at least one mounting portion at a lower end of the support disc, and at least one rolling element mounted to the mounting portion. The elastic engaging hook of the upper part is engaged with the engaging hole of the lower part so that the upper part and the lower part are connected together. The upper part is applied with a force to drive the lower part to move along the direction of the applied force for the user to do exercises.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 15, 2017Publication date: May 16, 2019Inventor: Chung-Fu Chang

Publication number: 20190143169Abstract: A motor-less leg-powered curved treadmill produced that allows people to walk, jog, run, and sprint without making any adjustments to the treadmill other than shifting the user's center of gravity forward and backwards. A closed loop treadmill belt running between front and rear pulley rollers is formed with a low friction running surface of transverse aluminum, wooden, plastic, rubber or carbon fiber slats attached to each other in a resilient fashion. Since an essential feature of treadmill is the concave shape of the running surface of belt in its respective upper portion, the treadmill configurations insure that this shape is maintained during actual use. These configurations prevent the concave upper running surface portion from being pulled taut into a flat shape between the front and rear pulley rollers.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 8, 2019Publication date: May 16, 2019Applicant: Speedfit LLCInventors: Alex Astilean, Dan Bostan

Publication number: 20190143170Abstract: An exercise device is portable and includes a steady platform with adjustable height and an adjustable resistance band. A user is able to utilize and interact with the device while lying on the ground. The device has an elastic band that is connected to two parallel vertical sides that are attached to a weighted stabilizing base. The height of the device can be adjusted to achieve different impact during the workout. The elastic band can be interchanged to vary the resistance level.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 15, 2018Publication date: May 16, 2019Inventor: JACQUELINE MOSS

Publication number: 20190143171Abstract: A back stretching apparatus includes an upstanding frame defining a stretching zone wherein a user can move a pair of lightly weighted hand grips between an overhead reaching position and a bent over stretched position. A light weight resistance is provided by a weight stack carried within upright frame members and interconnected by an internal pulley and cable system. A stabilization bar is disposed forwardly of the upright frame members and provides the user a target for the stretching and stabilization of the user in the stretched position. The light weight resistance permits the user to stretch their back muscles without exertion to limit the likelihood of back injury.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2017Publication date: May 16, 2019Inventor: Harry Martin Rothstein

Publication number: 20190143174Abstract: The present disclosure includes collecting motion data that is obtained at the time of a setting motion of a user using N sensors which are individually attached to N regions, for a plurality of users; doing deep learning of the motion data, and acquiring reference motion ranges of each region; acquiring the motion data using M sensors that are attached to M regions of the learner during the setting motion of the learner, comparing with the reference motion ranges, and guiding a motion of the learner by providing comparison results; comparing the amount of exercise of the learner with a reference amount of exercise, if the motion data of each of the M regions satisfies all corresponding reference motion ranges; and providing a notification message which induces attachment of an additional sensor, if the amount of exercise of the learner does not satisfy the reference amount of exercise.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 24, 2017Publication date: May 16, 2019Applicant: CULTURIT Co., Ltd.Inventor: Sung Hyun PARK

Publication number: 20190143175Abstract: A golf equipment fitting system that uses advanced technology to not only objectively identify the optimum equipment for the golfer, but to also identify and help correct swing flaws so that the golfer can achieve optimum performance on the golf course. Thus, in one embodiment, golf fitting includes collecting data related to the golfer's swing and determining if the golfer's swing technique should be modified based at least in part on the collected swing data. When it is determined that the golfer's swing technique should be modified, then providing swing instruction to the golfer. When, however, it is determined that the golfer's swing technique is fine, then collecting data related to how the golfer's swing launches a golf ball. Finally, golf equipment, e.g., golf clubs, can be specified based on the collected swing data and launch data.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 10, 2019Publication date: May 16, 2019Inventors: Mitchell Clark VOGES, Daniel Patrick HOLLISTER
