The system adjusts the contour and microclimate of the mattress surface, in addition to the ambient conditions of the sleep environment based on the user's preferences and physiological state. A variety of technologies are integrated into the sleep system in order to determine the settings for an improved sleep environment, and automatically adjust the mattress firmness, bed surface temperature, humidity, and/or ambient light and sound.

Abstract: The invention relates to a contouring device for a seat base, backrest, or mattress. The device comprises a substrate having a first surface and an opposing second surface, the first and second surfaces each comprising a plurality of pockets adapted to receive one or more inserts therein. Inserts of various sizes and shapes can be placed within selected pockets of the device to provide a contoured surface that suits the needs of the user of the device. For example, the device can be adapted to provide contours that encourage a user to adopt a preferred posture when seated or lying down.

Abstract: A hinged drawer type shelving apparatus includes a shelf with a first portion and a second portion hinged to the first portion. The first portion is connected between opposing arms that have a guide connected to a rearward portion of the arm. A frame has opposing side members between which the shelf is disposed. Each side member has a channel for directing or guiding movement of the corresponding guide. The shelf moves between a first stored position, where the first and second shelf portions are coplanar with one another, and a second extended position to facilitate restocking of product. In the extended position, the first shelf portion is tilted and non-coplanar with the second shelf portion.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for convention pouring and holding of candy foods are presented. The invention includes a first body panel with an inner section and an outer section, with the inner section of the first body panel having one or more first body panel members of a support structure. The invention further includes a second body panel with an inner section and an outer section, with inner section of said second body panel having one or more second body panel members of the support structure. The inner section of the first body panel and the inner section of said second body panel are coupled together such that the one or more first body panel members of the support structure and the one or more second body panel members of the support structure combine to form the one or more support structures for holding light foods.

Abstract: Disclosed is a spectacle frame presentation device for presenting spectacle frames in a predetermined number of presentation positions in a presentation environment, such as in a shop or at a fair. The device is suitable for an attractive presentation and easy removability of the spectacle frame. The device includes a column body wherein the column body has an elongate form and in a position of use has a relatively narrow front aspect relative to a relatively wide side aspect; and a predetermined number of recesses, such as cut-away portions, for forming respective presentation positions therein. The recesses are preferably formed as side portions cut out of the column body. The column body is a uni-body, preferably formed by means of manufacturing processes for forming an internal space. Also disclosed is a lock-in assembly and a method for manufacturing the spectacle frame presentation device.

Abstract: A blanket which is used to mark milestone events such as events in a child's life. The blanket having a means of attaching charms along the perimeter of the blanket. The blanket is composed of an upper piece and a lower piece sewn together to create an open area between the two pieces along the perimeter of the blanket. The open area having connectors, such as hook and loop fasteners, sewn in it such that charms may be attached to the connectors between the upper and lower pieces or the upper and lower pieces may be attached to each other while no charm is present. The charms may be ribbons, or other objects made of material which is safe for children. The blanket may have calendar, time line, or age markings along the perimeter such that charms may be attached to the connectors at the corresponding age or date when the event occurred.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing a disposable polymeric film and applying it to the hand of a user or an object, in which a stream of air drawn into an enclosed inflation chamber through a constricted opening aligned with an open end of the polymeric film inflates the topmost of a stack of polymeric films in the chamber so that a user can readily insert his hand or an object into the polymeric film. After the user has donned the polymeric film on the hand or an object has been placed in the polymeric film, a wall of the chamber is opened to permit the user to readily withdraw his hand or the object from the chamber while the air flow which originally inflated the top-most polymeric film is disrupted. Upon closure of the chamber wall, the re-established air flow automatically inflates the next lower polymeric film in the polymeric film stack to prepare the next polymeric film for receipt of another hand or object.

The holders include a series of sections, particularly, holding sections having different geometrical structures related to the different items intended to be hold. In this manner, they may be assembled at the convenience of the user and its holding units may be increased or decreased as well as selected based upon the particular structure of the holding units at the will of the users. The holder may be self-standing when using a disclosed base or alternatively, it may be secured to a commonly used toothbrush supporting base or even be supported via a suction cup over a given surface.

The body also includes an input that enables fluid access into the internal cavity and an output that enables fluid egress out of the internal cavity. The heating element heats the heating surfaces of the heating element. The flow path enables fluid to flow from the input, through the internal cavity of the body, and to the output of the body. The heating surfaces form a portion of the flow path. When the fluid flows through the internal cavity, the fluid is in direct physical contact with the heating surfaces.

Abstract: A system for brewing a desired portion of a beverage, such as a single-cup portion of coffee, is provided. The system may have more than one brew module. The system allows a user to quickly and easily brew a variety of types of single-cup portions of a beverage. In some embodiments, the system may brew a single-cup portion of coffee in a relatively short period of time based on a combination of certain parameters. The system may include an automatic cleaning mechanism such that a user does not need to manually clean components of a brewing machine between brew cycles. The system may also include apparatus configured to substantially prevent steam from reaching grinder components of the system. The system may also include apparatus configured to provide a precise dose of material based on, for example, volume of the material. Methods and apparatus for brewing a beverage are also disclosed.

Abstract: An oven for cooking foods includes a housing having a fire chamber and a cooking chamber disposed generally above the fire chamber. A vessel is receivable in the fire chamber and is adapted to hold combustible material therein to generate heat and smoke for cooking food in the cooking chamber. A blower is mounted on the housing. The blower is selectively operable to move air. A tube is attached to an outlet of the blower and extends into the fire chamber such that when the vessel is received in the fire chamber the tube extends to a position adjacent the vessel so that air from the blower is blown directly into the vessel without first passing a heating element. The oven does not require supplemental heat from a burner or similar heating element.

Abstract: A dish dryer/warmer which is powered by steam that is exhausted from a steam kettle. A hollow inserts fits into a spout on the kettle and a hose connects the spout to the dish dryer. The steam is then funneled into the dish dryer. A set of holders inside the dish dryer are mechanically activated based on what, so that if a dish is placed into a holder then steam will be discharged directly into that holder, thereby warming the respective dish. A plurality of such holders can be present inside the dish dryer and each one is selectively activated to discharge steam when an object is placed inside a respective holder. All of the holders in the dish dryer share the same steam source (the kettle or other source).

In the inoperative position the traction wheel and the cutter blade are spaced apart so that a rim of a can to be opened may be located between the traction wheel and the cutter blade. In the operative position the traction wheel and the cutter blade engage a can for opening the can. The can opener has an operating element that is operable by a user of the can opener for turning the traction wheel. Operation of the operating element also moves the cutter blade and traction wheel from the inoperative position to the operative position.

The resultant shower hob is formed as part of a tiled floor, and provides a relatively strong and low profile shower hob compared to previous shower hobs.
