  • Patent number: 10335293
Abstract: A damping control method for a lower-limb prosthesis, comprising the following steps: isolate the driving motor of the lower-limb prosthesis from the driving voltage; the driving motor is driven to rotate by the force that results from locomotion of a human's CoM (Center of Mass), and generates an alternating induced voltage, when the driving motor behaves as a generator; connect output terminals of the driving motor with a full-bridge rectification circuit that is made of Schottky diodes to transform the alternating induced voltage to a direct-current voltage; connect the output terminals of the full-bridge rectification circuit with a controlled switch to form a closed circuit, which will generate induced current from the induced voltage; control the on-off ratio of the controlled switch with a Pulse-Width-Modulation signal to generate a controllable motor current, which will result in controllable braking torque under the magnet field of the driving motor.

Abstract: A motor-driven chair has a central drive wheel located beneath the seat and linked so as to be aligned with the facing direction of the seat. A user turns the direction of motion by rotating the seat relative to a surrounding stabilizer assembly so as to turn the seat and the drive wheel towards a direction in which he wishes to move. A suspension arrangement maintains a desired distribution of user load between the drive wheel and the stabilizer assembly. A combination of fixed-axis wheels with castered wheels provides angular anchoring of the stabilizer assembly to facilitate the seat steering process. The entire structure is preferably foldable for easy transportation and storage.

  • Patent number: 10335332
Abstract: A walker standing aid accessory package consists of a lower attachment and an upper attachment. The lower foot bar piece allows the caregiver to utilize body weight to pin the walker's front legs to the floor or ground surface securely. The upper part incorporates multiple hand placement stabilization choices for both the patient and the caregiver. This invention increases the patient's self help and reduces most of the caregiver's exertion. Once the patient is standing upright, the caregiver may step aside and monitor said patient's immediate ambulation. The accessory package converts an existing walker into a device that not only helps the patient to stand but also reduces the strain on the caregiver. The walker with the accessories installed offers no interference or compromise to the existing walker's integrity, mobility or storage.

  • Patent number: 10335335
Abstract: For each air cell, air is supplied and discharged through one of three lines independent of one another, every third cell being connected to the common line. The control unit controls inflation and deflation of air cells in turn in such an alternate manner that first the pressure of air in the air cells on the first line is increased and decreased, secondly the pressure of air in the air cells on the second line is increased and decreased, then the pressure of air in the air cells on the third line is increased and decreased. Thereafter, when the back tilt angle of the back bottom has reached a predetermined angle or greater, the control unit increases the pressure of air cells whose pressure is being lowered at that moment so as to produce an inflated mode similar to that of the other air cells. Then, while the back bottom is being raised, the control unit performs an inflation and deflation control of individual lines alternately on a cycle shorter than that in a normal control mode.
