Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage devices for manufacturing patient-specific bolus for use in targeted radiotherapy treatment. Based on dose calculations without a bolus and based on three-dimensional scan data of a patient, the example system generates a model of a bolus for targeting radiotherapy treatment to a planning target volume or target region within the patient. The system can perform several iterations to generate a resulting model for the bolus. Then, the system can generate instructions for controlling a three-dimensional printer to generate the bolus that conforms to the patient's skin surface while also specifically targeting the planning target volume for the radiotherapy treatment. In this way, the amount of radiotherapy treatment administered to other tissue is reduced, while the costs, time, and human involvement in creating the bolus are significantly reduced.

Abstract: Multiple tumors are grouped into multiple treatment groups. Tumors in different treatment groups are treated by a radiosurgery in different treatment sessions than the tumors in the same treatment groups. The tumors can be grouped so as to decrease the biologically effective dose received by normal tissue in the treatment area. The radiosurgical planning system can divide the tumors into groups based on their location relative to each other and the radiation the tumors will be treated with and create a plan for treating the tumors according to the treatment groups.

Abstract: X-ray delivery system includes a portable base unit to which a first end of a robotic arm is mounted. An X-ray treatment head is disposed on a second end of the robotic arm. The X-ray treatment head includes an X-ray component configured to generate therapeutic radiation in the X-ray wavelength range. A calibration well is disposed at a predetermined location in the portable base unit. The calibration well is comprised of a recess into which the X-ray treatment head can be received and having at least one port through which the X ray treatment head can be inserted by the robotic arm for calibration operations. The calibration well includes a plurality of X-ray radiation sensing elements disposed at distributed locations around a periphery of the calibration well.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for target tracking using a quality indicator during radiation therapy treatment. An exemplary method may include determining a localization result indicating a location of a target in a plurality of images representative of images acquired in a radiation therapy treatment session. The method may also include determining a quality indicator for each localization result. The method may further include extracting one or more features from each localization result. In addition, the method may include training the classifier using the localization result and one or more of the extracted features.

Abstract: Methods for diagnosing a pathologic tissue membrane, as well as a focused ultrasound apparatus and methods of treatment are disclosed to perform ureterocele puncture noninvasively using focused ultrasound-generated cavitation or boiling bubbles to controllably erode a hole through the tissue. An example ultrasound apparatus may include (a) a therapy transducer having a treatment surface, wherein the therapy transducer comprises a plurality of electrically isolated sections, (b) at least one concave acoustic lens defining a therapy aperture in the treatment surface of the therapy transducer, (c) an imaging aperture defined by either the treatment surface of the therapy transducer or by the at least one concave acoustic lens and (d) an ultrasound imaging probe axially aligned with a central axis of the therapy aperture.

Abstract: A neuromodulation system including a catheter having a balloon along its distal end is disclosed in several embodiments. An ultrasound transducer positioned within an interior of the balloon can be selectively activated to emit acoustic energy radially outwardly in order to target nerve tissue and other portions of the subject anatomy. In some embodiments, the system is configured to be delivered over a guidewire.

Abstract: The instant invention relates to an apparatus and method for enhancing the fire extinguishing properties of water for use with fire fighting aircraft. The apparatus and method includes the steps of, and equipment for, transferring media into a holding tank in aircraft; filling a reservoir hopper with water in the aircraft; calculating the amount of media to be added to the reservoir; drawing the calculated amount of media into the reservoir to form an enhanced fire fighting admixture while the aircraft is in flight, wherein the admixture is offloaded by a controlled discharge for use in fighting forest fires.

Abstract: A dispenser cap for a fire extinguisher includes a main body portion that has a generally hemispherical shape. The dispenser cap also includes a securing portion adjacent to the main body portion. The securing portion is configured to be removably attached to a dispenser of the fire extinguisher.

Abstract: Improvements to a portable fire extinguisher are disclosed. The improvements allow for frequent and simplified inspection and maintenance of a fire extinguisher with minimal training and without need for custom equipment. The improvements include an anti-bridging mechanism that can be articulated from the exterior of the chamber to fluff, mix or stir the powder within the chamber to keep it in a liquefied state. Additional improvements include a larger opening to more quickly fill and inspect the powder within the chamber. Another improvement includes the use of a CO2 cartridge located external to the chamber to allow easier servicing or replacement of just the CO2 cartridge as well as the ability to maintain the chamber in an un-pressurized condition, allows for non-HASMAT shipping. These features will extend the service intervals while maintaining the fire extinguisher in a ready condition.

Abstract: A fire hose coupling comprises a body having a first end connected to a fire hose and a second end having either male or female threads or, alternatively, a quarter-turn sexless coupler. The fire hose coupling comprises a recessed portion formed in an outer surface of the body. The recessed portion is shaped to define a visuotactile directional indicator such as an arrow. The recessed portion may include a light-reflecting surface to enhance visibility such as a super reflective metal film, a photo luminescent coating, or a phosfluorescent coating. The recessed directional indicator may be formed in female, male or sexless (Storz) couplings.

Abstract: An exercise machine has at least one hollow column rotationally mounted between upper and base members of a frame. A pulley carriage is mounted inside the column in engagement with an internal track for travel up and down the track, and a cable linked to an exercise resistance extends through the pulley carriage before terminating at a cable pull attachable to a selected user engagement accessory. A pulley cover pivoted to the carriage extends partially out of a column opening and extends over one or more pulleys mounted in the pulley carriage.

Abstract: A permanently affixed and travelling selector pin, car and weight plate selection mechanism for use with physical fitness equipment is disclosed including a segmented track and/or cut out cavern within the plate body for the car to travel within in either vertically or horizontally in order to select a different weight plate or cumulatively, more or less weight for an exercise. The selector pin and car mechanism features a selector pin which is not removable from the car and is inserted through the car which is contained by the track and or plate body shape and into a throughbore in the weight plate in order to engage with the selector stem.

Abstract: An elbow harness connected to a forearm harness, the forearm harness supporting a rod driven by a power source, and a proximity detector at a distal end of the forearm harness proximate with where a hand exits the forearm harness when worn. The proximity detector is configured to trigger the power source to drive the rod from a retracted position on the forearm harness to an extended position on the forearm harness.

Abstract: A bimanual arm trainer that provides therapeutic bimanual repetitive exercise to improve upper body movement and flexibility has a top support that is elevated relative to a ground surface. The trainer further includes: (a) first and second arm holders that are pivotable relative to the top support; and (b) first and second arm holder housings that are pivotably coupled to the top support and can be moved into a plurality of different positions and locked in place in one of the plurality of different positions relative to the top support. The first arm holder is pivotably coupled to the first arm holder and the second arm holder is pivotably coupled to the second arm holder. A reciprocating translation mechanism operatively connects the first and second arm holders such that the motion of one of the first and second arm holders is mirrored in the other of the first and second arm holders.

Abstract: A lateral tilting system comprising one or more crossbeams that are each pivotably supported by a respective base member for pivotable motion about a common longitudinal axis. A drive mechanism is operably connected to a drive shaft to mechanically drive pivotable motion of the crossbeams about the axis, and resulting lateral tilt of an associated treadmill deck. A control system may be included to receive a user's input for controlling an oscillation rate or other parameter of the lateral tilting, and optionally longitudinal incline of the treadmill deck. A novel treadmill including a lateral tilting system and a lateral tilting accessory for conventional exercise equipment are provided also.

Abstract: An exercise device featuring a pair of knee joints, each pivotally and respectively coupled to a pair of calf linkages, each of the pair of calf linkages having a foot pedal at an opposite lower end that supports low impact user-defined natural exercise gait patterns. The knee joints are supported and directed to travel by linkage and/or carriage systems that operate substantially below a user hip area and direct the knee joints in a variety of travel paths, ranging from a constant arc, a linear pathway, to a variety of irregular arc shaped paths to pathways that may change during use. A secondary system coupled to the linkage and/or carriage systems provides lift and dampening forces to influence a responsiveness of the foot pedals via bending and straightening of the calf linkage about the respective knee joint, yet does not restrict back and forth travel of the respective knee joint.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for providing coaching, training, or equipment specification information to individual golfers based on data generated during their individual golf swings. Additionally, data hubs are described that provide information and services to individuals based on data collected for a community of multiple golfers. Such community data hub systems and methods may provide one or more of the following: (a) storage of scoring data, swing data, ball flight data, and/or equipment data for multiple golfers; (b) at least some level of individual access to the stored data for the community; and/or (c) electronic interaction between golfers within the community.

Abstract: Techniques of the present disclosure guide an exercise, including counting a number of repetitions, a duration of a static movement, and providing feedback regarding the exercise. In some embodiments a plurality of motion data samples are obtained and collected during a repetitive fitness exercise. A set of extreme points is identified among the plurality of motion data samples, a number of repetitions performed during the fitness exercise is determined based on the set of extreme points, and the information regarding the determined number of repetitions is output. With this information, the management device can give context-aware coaching feedback to the users, for example, counting, motivating, and giving instructions on the exercise.

Abstract: Enables a fitting system for sporting equipment using an application that executes on a mobile phone for example to prompt and accept motion inputs from a given motion capture sensor to measure a user's size, range of motion, speed and then utilizes that same sensor to capture motion data from a piece of equipment, for example to further optimize the fit of, or suggest purchase of a particular piece of sporting equipment. Abstract: A golf club head made out of multi-material is disclosed herein. More specifically, the golf club head in accordance with the present invention has at least a portion of the body of the golf club head that is further comprised out of a base layer and a lightweight cover layer. The base layer may have a plurality of cutouts to help reduce unnecessary mass and the lightweight cover layer may be made out of an ultra-lightweight material to further reduce the unnecessary mass. In alternative embodiments of the invention, the base layer may have one or more ribs to provide structural rigidity to the base layer.

Each FAE may include at least one disc spring that is adapted for absorbing forces. The at least one rigid component may be disposed within the shell and adjacent to the plurality of FAEs. In this way, the FAEs may be between the shell's interior surface and the at least one rigid component. When a force is applied to a location on the shell's exterior surface, it may be substantially absorbed by at least one of the FAEs positioned adjacent to the location on the shell's interior surface.

The server communicates through the Internet with electronic devices having Internet access operated by at least one player. Registration means allows the player to register with and logon to the play and learn app. Preference selection means enables the player ability to enter user preferences, including age, game selection, skill level. Performance review means determines strength and weaknesses of the player. The platform provides a plethora of game play variations to facilitate learning in a fun inclusive manner.
