Abstract: A sewer drain elevation assembly includes a sewer drain that is embedded into a roadway. A grate is removably positionable on the sewer drain to inhibit debris from passing through the sewer drain. The grate would be spaced downwardly from a resurfaced driving surface of the roadway after the roadway is resurfaced thereby posing a hazard to traffic and pedestrians. A pair of inserts is provided and each of the inserts is positionable between the grate and the sewer drain after the roadway is resurfaced. Thus, each of the inserts lifts the grate to align the grate with the resurfaced driving surface of the roadway after the roadway is resurfaced.

Abstract: An affordable Zero-Energy prefabricated modular building such as for housing, in which a Layered disposition of Envelope elements—including Structural Insulated Panels—in the wall, floor and roof sections of the building's thermal Envelope, provide a highly energy-efficient Building Envelope, which together with a modular building Support Structure including Aeriated Frames, and an adequately sized renewable energy power generator system, inexpensively achieves the energetic independence of the building. A method is disclosed for the adaptation of the building's design and construction to the bio-climatic conditions of its projected location, in which different possible configurations of the relevant elements of the Building Envelope, the building structure and the renewable power generator system are evaluated, discarding those configurations which don't meet the defined acceptable criteria for energy-efficiency, thermal isolation and water condensation risks.

Abstract: A laminated building sheathing (20) comprising a rigid foam board (22) and a vapor-permeable film facer (24). The vapor-permeable film facer (24) is adhered to the rigid foam board (22) by an adhesive (26) at non-continuous adhesive locations. The film facer (24) is vapor-permeable, and an extent of non-continuity of the adhesive with respect to area of the rigid foam board is controlled to provide a desired balance between (1) sufficient vapor permeability to conduct vapor to the exterior of the sheathing and (2) a minimum surface area required to effect sufficient adhesion of the film facer to the rigid foam board. In another of its example aspects, a laminated building sheathing comprises a rigid foam board, the rigid foam board comprising a first major surface and a second major surface parallel to the first major surface. The first major surface is configured for being covered by cladding; the second major surface is configured for contact with a building.
