The processor acquires second information concerning a preparation of a second cartridge to be replaced with the first cartridge. If the residual quantity is below a reference quantity and if the second information is acquired, the processor allows the print execution device to perform printing under a cartridge removed state where the first cartridge is removed from the mount portion. If the residual quantity is larger than or equal to the reference quantity or if the second information is not acquired, the processor prohibits the print execution device from printing under the cartridge removed state.

Abstract: A liquid supply unit includes a first chamber, a second chamber, an opening/closing member and a lever member. The first chamber communicates with a liquid storage container and is set to a first pressure. The second chamber communicates with a liquid injection head and is internally set to a second pressure decompressed from the first pressure. A posture of the opening/closing member is changed between a closing posture and an opening posture. A posture of the lever member is changed between a sealing posture for sealing an opening allowing communication between the second chamber and atmosphere and an opening posture for opening the opening. The lever member allows the opening/closing member to be set to the closing posture while being set in the sealing posture, and changes the posture of the opening/closing member from the closing posture to the opening posture while being set in the opening posture.

Abstract: A liquid supply unit includes a first chamber, a second chamber, an opening/closing member, a biasing member, a pressing member and a flexible film member. The first chamber communicates with a liquid storage container, and the second chamber communicates with a liquid injection head. The opening/closing member changes a posture between a closing posture for closing a communication opening and an opening posture for opening it. The biasing member biases the opening/closing member in a direction toward the closing posture. The pressing member presses the opening/closing member in a direction toward the opening posture. The flexible film member is displaced based on a negative pressure generated in the second chamber. When a pressure receiving portion of the pressing member receives the displacement force from the flexible film member, the pressing member rotates about a pivot point and presses the opening/closing member against a biasing force of the biasing member.

Abstract: A method for compensating for disruption torques in driving a jetting cylinder in an inkjet printing machine includes recording print image products for at least one color and at least one complete rotation of the jetting cylinder by using an image sensor and using a computer for a time parallel measurement of a driving torque of the jetting cylinder, generating an average gray value profile above a circumferential coordinate based on the recorded image data by using the computer, transforming the average gray value profile and the measured profile of the driving torque into a frequency range by using a computer-assisted Fourier transform and extracting order components from the frequency range. A periodic compensation torque is calculated based on the extracted order components, and the calculated periodic compensation torque is factored-in when actuating the jetting cylinder of the inkjet printing machine in the course of a printing operation.

Abstract: A method for detecting and compensating defective printing nozzles in an inkjet printing machine includes periodically printing at least one printing nozzle test chart having horizontal rows of equidistant vertical lines underneath one another, with only nozzles contributing to the test chart in every row corresponding to horizontal rows, and printing an area coverage element geometrically associated with the test chart. Both elements are recorded by an image sensor and evaluated by a computer. The computer identifies print defects by evaluating the area coverage element and allocates the defects to defective nozzles. The computer evaluates the test chart based on thresholds to detect defective nozzles and compensate detected defective nozzles. The computer compares the detected defective nozzles from the area coverage element and the test chart to identify detected defective nozzles causing defects in only one element and calculates the thresholds based thereon to minimize the detected defective nozzles.
