The attachment ribs can also contain a beveled edge that can provide mechanical support to the attachment sites between the spout fitment and the flexible container. Other embodiments can include a base portion having lateral attachment walls containing a series of elevated ridges that provide extended areas of focal contact between the spout fitment and the flexible container. Strengthening rib bends may be added near the end of a straight wing to add rigidity reducing the likelihood of wing fold over. The wings may include secondary wings, for example, in a Herringbone pattern.
