Abstract: One embodiment of a plurality of dice with markings such that when the primary die is rolled a user either lands on a randomized result within the predetermined probability distribution or is directed to roll a secondary die which either provides a result or directs the user to roll a tertiary die. In the embodiments discussed here the final result is achieved on the first roll over 90% of the time. The embodiments described and shown are capable of representing complex distributions that include highly improbable outcomes, providing users with the convenient alternative of simply reading the result rather than performing comparative and mathematical operations on the results of multiple dice rolls.

Abstract: This document presents an apparatus for a flexible air filter media that can be configured for shipping and storage having one or more flexible inserts mounted to the filter media along one or more portions of the accordion folds of the air filter material. The current invention permits the air filter apparatus to fold along both X and Y axes, create a tri-fold, and bend in a manner that provides for a much smaller volume for shipping purposes. The invention also permits attaching the flexible material to the center of the filter media and also inserts which allow sections of the air filter media to be nested one into another to reduce both shipping and storage volume.

Abstract: Methods of sequestering carbon dioxide (CO2) are provided. Aspects of the methods include contacting an aqueous capture ammonia with a gaseous source of CO2 under conditions sufficient to produce an aqueous ammonium carbonate. The aqueous ammonium carbonate is then combined with a cation source under conditions sufficient to produce a solid CO2 sequestering carbonate and an aqueous ammonium salt. The aqueous capture ammonia is then regenerated from the from the aqueous ammonium salt. Also provided are systems configured for carrying out the methods.

Abstract: In a process for the removal of hydrogen chloride and/or sulfur oxides from a landfill gas stream, which contains impurities such as siloxanes, H2S, organic and inorganic sulfides and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), the heated gas is passed through a siloxane removal bed, where siloxanes are absorbed and then through one or more sulfur removal beds, where hydrogen sulfide and/or organic sulfides are absorbed. The effluent is passed through a reactor containing an oxidation catalyst enabling catalytic oxidation of VOCs, organic and inorganic CI- and/or S-containing compounds, COS and CS2 to their respective combustion products, and finally the effluent from the reactor is passed through one or more beds, where hydrogen chloride and/or sulfur oxides are absorbed.

Abstract: A process is disclosed for reversibly absorbing carbon dioxide to an alkali metal or earth alkaline absorbent. For absorption the absorbent is contacted with a first gas composition. For desorption the absorbent is contacted with a second gas composition. The moisture contents of the first and second gas compositions are controlled so that during the absorption step the absorbent is converted to a bicarbonate, and during the desorption step the absorbent is converted to a carbonate hydrate. Compared to prior art processes the process of the invention requires less energy input. The process of the invention is particularly suitable for producing a carbon dioxide enriched gas for accelerating plant growth in a greenhouse.
