  • Patent number: 10455815
Abstract: A pet leash with a removably attached disposable plastic bag for picking up dog waste and holding the dog waste during a walk. The plastic bag can be removably contained within a pouch that is removably attached to the leash. During a walk, when needing to retrieve pet waste, the bag can be opened and the user insert his hand from the bottom of the bag and the bag is partially or completely turned inside-out for retrieving the pet waste. With the hand in the bag it is possible to reach down and pick up the dog waste by grasping the pet waste through the material of the bag. After all the waste is grasped, the user pulls his hand back through the bag to return the bag back to its original orientation with the pet waste within the bag. The bag can then be closed and later removed from the leash to dispose of the bag with the pet waste therein.

  • Patent number: 10455817
Abstract: We disclose a medical toilet that comprises one or more medical devices and a control for the metrics they collect. The medical devices may be used to collect metrics relevant to a user's health status. The medical toilet further comprises a conduit through which volatile organic compounds travel from the toilet bowl to the environment outside the toilet. An animal trained to identify the scent of bodily waste collected from a user that is afflicted with a disease perceives the scent of the user's bodily waste traveling through the conduit and performs a defined act upon perceiving the disease scent. The metric collected by the medical device(s) may be used to diagnose the same disease as that which the animal is trained to identify. The diagnosis provided by the animal by way of the conduit acts as a control for the metric collected by the medical device.

  • Patent number: 10455818
Abstract: A bird feeder including a shroud embracing a vertically disposed feed container with the feed container having a feed tray at the lower end thereof. The shroud is vertically movable between an upper position and a lower position with respect to the feed container. In its upper position, birds are able to gain access to the feed tray. In its lower position, the shroud blocks access to the feed tray. A spring yieldably maintains the shroud in its upper position. If a squirrel climbs onto the shroud, the weight of the squirrel overcomes the resistance of the spring which results in the shroud moving to its lower position to prevent the squirrel from gaining access to the feed tray. Three different embodiments of the spring are described and shown. The design of the cover of the shroud partially shields the spring from inclement weather.

  • Patent number: 10455820
Abstract: A process where materials are applied to a plastic fishing lure surface, producing a lure that possesses chromatic vicissitude as a result of water temperature fluctuations. A non-thermochromatic base layer of one or more colors is applied to the plastic fishing lure. This layer acts as the visual appearance of the fishing lure in the absence of temperature fluctuations. Clear extender is then used as an additive to the thermochromatic ink. This addition to the ink then allows the ink to be sprayed onto the surface of the lure. This ink-extender amalgam can be applied in multiple layers however the bottom layer must have the least amount of hue saturation. Each layer thereafter would increase in hue saturation. Multiple hue combinations can be utilized. Once the desired number of thermochromatic layers has been applied, an ultra-clear super high gloss lacquer finish is sprayed on to the exterior of all layers.

  • Patent number: 10455839
Abstract: Hydrogen cyanamide (HyCyn) is a product derived from calcium cyanamide. Three decades ago HyCyn became commercially available as a plant growth regulator. Sprayed on dormant plants, it provides uniform bud-break. This present invention provides repeatable methods for using aqueous HyCyn, and other similar water-soluble low molecular weight cyanamide or nitrile containing compounds, as stand-alone biocides. Qualities include: safer delivery to field settings, fewer environmental impacts and predictable plant growth improvement. HyCyn with its systemic qualities can act as a fertilizer, desiccant, nematicide, fungicide, herbicide, growth regulator and an agent of enzyme inactivation. These biocidal and other effects appear to be a result of double or triple bonds connecting carbon with nitrogen, and therefore it is expected that other water-soluble low molecular weight compounds having carbon-nitrogen double or triple bonds can act similarly.
